I don't know what the dates are. They are probably on the website.. I'm sure they all get released the same day, but who knows.
 
looks great.. why not make a patch for the pc version.. that includes the msp.. and cough 99-00 cough model...

It's not that simple.

EA has to license the vehicles through the manufactuer and pay for those licenses as well.

The car lists usually get thrown about quite a few times but it eventually gets to a point that many departments of the company agree, especially marketing.

As far as they are concerned, the Protege isn't a very popular car.

You guys should put a petition together.

So, I've got to say, since you're here, that I've been playing a lot of NFSU2 lately. Good gameplay, good graphics, good music, just a really good game!

I was a bit disapointed to find the MSP missing, but only 'cause there were two other Mazdas on there and the Peugeot again! What's with the Peuguots in the US release, anyway? We don't get those here! I know the MSP isn't a huge car with the U.S. tuner crowd, but when was the last time you saw a Peuguot at NOPI?

NFSU1 was good, but U2 is much better.

I LOVE NFS Porsche Unleashed. One of the best racing games I have for the PC. Truely superb. Different in-car views for all 60 cars or so, great racing, great tracks, mods that do something, cars with distinct differences in "feel" and a nice progression through the history of the Brand.

So, what went wrong with NFSHP2? There's like 10 cars, they all drive the same, there's no mods, and there's no in-car view with a dash. I was so looking forward to that game, and it's like a HUGE step back from NFSPU. Not to bash, especially since I see that was the first NFS you worked on, but what happened?

I guess what I'm most curious about is: Do folks at EA see that game as a step down/step back, or is it just me?
 
Looking good...The scenery looks like something out of the Test Drive series though. I though NFSMW was going to be more urbanized.

I'm assuming you mean the PC version. We'll Black Box only did the PS2 version, wheras EA Seattle developed the PC, GC, and XBox versions. A short time later, EA Seattle was shut down and Black Box Games was acquired by EA. See where I'm going here?

If you compare PS2 to the other versions, they are completley different games. NFS:HP2 PS2 is a fantastic title and #20 or #21 on EA's all-time top sales list.

Burnaby or downtown? I am downtown and know a guy by that name. There's like 300 people here and 2,000 in Burnaby, so you could be nameing 20 people. You should be more descriptive.

The one I know is from South Africa, and tall.
 
Nope not the same one, the one I know is in Burnaby (I think). Game looks great btw, I'm getting it for PC ASAP.

Thanks for the answer. I was talking about the PC version, and I didn't know they'd developed the games seperately. I really appreciate you explaining and offering reviews and not just telling me to **** off if I don't like your game! The thing is, I wanted to like it, but it just didn't live up to it's predecessor, and that was a huge letdown. I considered not getting Underground because of it.

And yeah, I will live with the Peugeot in the game, but from what I've seen on various NFS-related websites some cars are only in the U.S. versions, and some cars are only in the non-U.S. versions, and the choices seem kind of arbitrary.

US only: Acura RSX, Honda Civic Si Coupe

...and yet the Peugeot 206 is in both releases! That's kind of arbitrary!

Anyway, I realize you're not the guy in charge of everything, and I'm not asking "WHY Phrisco, WHY did you do this to ME?" I was just kind of curious, I'm a big fan of these games, and I'm excited to get to actually ask someone who's on the inside of my favorite games some of my questions about them.

The new one looks amazing, BTW. It is coming out for PC, right?

Yeah all platforms, including PC. They are all developed by the same team, and PC looks and performs just as good as 360.

Honda North America and Honda Japan make different calls, Honda North America said yes, Honda Japan said no.

I don't know much about the European cars, I'm not on the car team, I work on environments.

You should give NFS:HP2 PS2 a try if you give it a chance. It is a really great game, a little dated since it was 1st gen PS2, we've made vast improvments on the engine in the last 4 years, but nevertheless great.
 
i got a little .... fed up with the game. i rented it and it got me so frustrated because the cops hated me and used the spike strips. i loved the game but it doesnt love me....
