OBD compliant air test problem

My '02 P5 would not pass Ill. air test because OBD read not ready or not supported. Tried numerous drive cycles as suggested by air test facility, dealer and forum members. Dealer had car for a total of 10 days and replaced each and every sensor to determine fault. Any part that didn't change reading was removed and old part replaced. Are you ready for the final piece of this puzzle? The power steering pump pressure sensor was non-functional and shut down all other sensors. I'm still fighting for a refund of 8 hours labor for diagnostic time for them learning on my time. They also replaced this pump last year 12 months and 14 days ago, so no warranty coverage.

I have never heard of this...but definitely a good (hard) lesson! Hope you get the money back! I assume you were throwing a CEL all the time?

OBD never showed any codes even while hooked up during driving test.

^Hey - go easy on them... i am sure i never would have come up with that & they DID find it. I guraenttee that was only found by crawiling through schematics and a lot of head scratching.

Bummer. oh well.
