Any suggestions. At Wide open throttle there is no boost but at part throttle the boost does build. Any suggestions on what the cause might be? Thx.

sounds like a leak. check intercooler pipes for cracks. also how much boost do make at part throttle

Definetly sounds like a boost leak..check all connections!

I don't have the boost gauge installed yet but you can hear and feel the boost building when at part throttle but when you open it up it falls on its face and revs really slow and you don't hear the turbo spooling. I took a look at all the hoses and nothing seems to have popped off or cracked.

It has not been flashed yet either.

The car drove amazingly for the first 2 weeks then last week everytime I'm at WOT it does not build boost. If it was leaking wouldn't it stop boost from building all the time.

Not always...Sometimes it takes full boost for the pressure to escape...in anything less the leak isn't big enough...It most likely is something of this nature if you are getting boost at partial throttle...If you can't find any leaks try the dealership...You probably won't be able to see where the leak is coming from anyway...The pressure is probably squeezing out of a poorly sealed coupling, that probably looks fine...Have a friend stand on the gas while you are outside the car...You will probably hear a high pitched hiss where it is venting out...If yo can get the car up on ramps when you do it, so you can poke your head under the intercooler and near the intake system...

yep i agree..
cheack hose clamps and the (PLASTIC!) end tanks on the ic how are you still running stock boost levels?

Thanks for the tips, I'll crawl under it tonight. Have to wait until Friday for the dealership as they couldn't give me a courtesy car until then.

odd....

could be too rich mixture too! At least I have a boost gauge, and on a very rich mix on WOT, boost was there, but power starts to fade and the turbo sound too.

That is how they all feel if you put the pedal to the floor before the flash. I honestly don't know the technical reason why besides it's a result of the fuel/timing. I think what you are experiencing is that strange pre-flash MSP characteristic that you get more power out of the car if you lift the pedal 1/4 inch off the floor versus having pushed completely in.

also i always noticed that the turbo will sound very loud even if it is only building a little boost, like if your holding at partial throttle, it still sounds like your fully boosting

If my car did that I don't think I'd drive it till the Dealership had a "Rodgering" with it.

I don't think you have a problem on your hand. Mine was like that too before I got a downpipe. It felt slow after around 4k rpm and the turbo really quites down.

Got the MSP flashed today and the boost is back. Weird how it would drive nice for about 1700KM and then go to the s****. All they did was flash it and now all is good again. Thanks to all for the tips.

Bullit.

Glad to hear the problem is resolved..Now make up w/ your baby..and get her a nice gift!
