Newcomer question on mods

I just got my 2008 white mazdaspeed about a month ago and I'm already trying to put mods on it even though my dad told me not to . But i was wondering what you think would be the best first mod to do to my car? I have a list of stuff i eventually want to do to my car, but I'm not sure where to start. I'm female and know a fair amount about cars and so does my fiancee, he owns a body shop, but im a little hestitant about messing with brand new cars, and i dont know enough about the mazdaspeed to start just adding crap but any suggestions i would greatly appreciate

Welcome to the forums..The first mod should be a new intake..A Cobb sri is what you want or a MS CAI..

cobb sri should be ur first its easy to install and gains are amazing our stock airbox is really restrictive also, it also sounds amazing then just do a forge bpv easy to install and holds boost

I did the intake first myself, but if I had a do over I think I'd start with the motor mount inserts.

I started with a SU motor mount, then went to the SRI. I think that is the best bet. No point in adding HP when the stock mount can't even handle stock HP.

Welcome, I think you wil find enough information on this forum to keep you busy reading for a while. I posted a similar question a few weeks ago, and received a lot of great response. I would encourage you to really read through these forums, you can gain a lot of knowledge by looking at older posts on the same subject... thanks for the input i was up till 3am scanning through old threads just piddling but i got lazy ...what is up with the whole motor mount mod? the stock ones need replaced im guessing?

The Motor Mount is going to be one of my first additions. If you will notice when you accelerate rapidly from 1st thru 3rd gear, you will notice a considerable amount of wheel-hop, as well as torque steer. The stock mounts are not designed near as well as most of the after market mounts, so basically, this addition will allow you to put the horsepower where it belongs, which is at the wheels, and not lose it in the drive train..(burnout)

Try the $4 mount mod first. Cheaper than a replacement @ $80-$100. Tightens the motor up pretty well, considering the cost. The free shifter mod is very effective, as well.
