alright i know this was talked about before but i still cant really get a straight answer. is there anything bad that can happen if i replace the stock filter with a cone or mushroom aftermarket filter.

also was wonderin if which filter would be better. the aftermarket mushroom filter or a cone filter.

we did this to another car here in the chicago land area in a crunch...worked fine. where in IL are you located at?

You're better off getting a K&N panel filter if you want to keep the stock intake. It'll flow the same as a cone filter and the airbox will act as a heatshield.

He's right. I would just go with a K&N drop in. Thats what I did and even I noticed the difference.

Just a filter on the end of the stock pipe will take away horsepower because you'll be sucking in air from the radiator fans.

i gues i might get the k and n then. the only reason i was thinking about it was because i heard u can here ur turbo spool a lot better that way. i really dont feel like spending 280 for an intake. if u guys have anything that can help me with that could u let me know? thanks.
