today is a happy day...

i was just dropped off by my dealer...

i took my car in just before i am out of warranty ...

ive had grinding problems since 20k miles and i was getting my swaybars checked out...

my transmission has gradually gotten worse over the past 10k miles...

the best way to describe it is that my tranny sounds like an F1 car or a siren on a police car....

well the tech determined it was the tranny where the noise is coming from and they are tearing it apart and replacing every bad part on the tranny...

im so happy that this is finally being taken care of...

i should have it back on mon or tuesday next week..

for the mean time im driving my dads 2003 saab 9-3 TURBO

good to hear they are fixing it..

Saabs are good :D full turbo line up.. what more could you ask for.

yeah his saab is pretty quick...

TONS of torque...

really small turbo though...

azian6er and i may throw on a boost controller for a few hours tonight see if we can get it fairly quicker...

just 1-4 psi higher...

stock is 7psi i believe...

nothing like driving your da'ds faster car while yours is layed up, i drive my dad's 2002 C5 when mines fubar :)

well i talked to the service manager today and im getting a completely new transmission...

i should have my car back tomorrow...

MAYBE they threw in the MSP tranny... with the lsd...

hmmm...:)

NEW TRANNY IS IN!!!!

man cook mazda in farmington hills completely changed my mind on how mazda service people are and how mazda usa is...

they really took care of me and kept me posted 2 times per day on the progress...

i have numerous mods and mazda didnt give me any flack at all.. they didnt even ask questions.. other than if it helped make the car faster and they complemented my exhaust sound...

if anyone in the michigan area has a warranty problem i hightly suggest going to Bill Cook Mazda.....

from what the tech and service manager told me ...

the problem with my transmission was..

1. the bearings were wearing on an angle ... and unevenly.
2. the gears and syncros were wearing unevenly and were missing teeth..
3. my input shaft was damaged.
4.my 2nd gear syncro was in THREE pieces when they removed it... when the tech took out the gears they fell apart.

they just ended up puting in a complete transmission..

ew, sounds nasty(wow) good to hear they took good care of you and everything is sorted out...throw some ridline fluid in there when you get a chance :) just for good measure

i had redline in my old tranny since 20k miles...

i put 28k miles on the redline fluid...

i will be changing it when i throw in my new clutch and flywheel this week...

when i was under my car tightening my bots to my header i noticed that the dealer gave me new driveshafts too!!!

im so happy i got this crap taken care of...

mazda now kicks ass...

Sweet, at least your dealership knows how to put things back together!.. I had my car in for transmission work and i had to take it back twice because the problems were worse then when I took it in. The last time they said to just let it get worse because there is nothing they will do. I am happy with the customer service, just not the mechanics.. I figure I can always throw in a junkyard transmission if this one ever dies.

my dealer keeps telling me theres nothing wrong with my car :( at leats it doesn't get stuck in 2nd gear anymore, for a 2700lbs. car mp3's push like a dead horse.

well the tech completely overtightened one bolt that i know of...

my front engine mount...
when i was installing my header i was also going to swap my front mount back to the awr mount...

the bolt that holds the mount in place was so overtightened i broke the lip that holds the square bolt from turning..

i had the breaker bar on my shoulder and i was on a creeper using my legs to push off a workbench that was bolted to the ground...

i eventually broke off the lip..

now im not sure what im going to do to get off this front mount..

propane torch the nut and the bolt should loosen and come out, this is what i had to do on the pinion shaft bolt on my old Z.

Yeah, heating the bolt is a good idea. I do it alot in my auto shop at school, cause some of teh other kids over tighten s*** way too much. Like every time a car comes in the second time, we have to heat almost every nut that they tighten, cause some of them don't realize, there is such a thing as too tight.

well considering i dont have a torch i dont know how else i am going to heat it up..

plus i need to somehow keep the square nut from turning...

put a self tapping pan head screw in the mount bracket to keep it from spinning.

im going to try once more to try and get the bolt off ...

im going to do it tomorrow when i put my clutch in....

lets hope i can get it off...
