New to the protege'

Hey board I am New to the protege.I am a die hard honda man but I have just bought my wife a Pro 5.I noticed on here alot of people talking about the off set. What off set do you guy's think would be best for a 17"or 18".:wtf:

17" best would be something like 42 or more, with a lower, I'd say 45+

18" if you lower you NEED 48+ offset, otherwise you might be able to get away with 45+ offset.

And always, try searching first, as there is a sticky post in wheels and suspension area concerning this.... from a professional no doubt

and hey, WELCOME TO THE BOARD! I came from the world of honda too, in a 1990 Acura Integra RS. Boy was that a piece of crap... but pretty fast :o

Mazdaspeed is a 55 offset on a 17 x 7 wheel...

although it will be very hard to get a wheel that high offset, the offsets I have given are just enoguh to not rub

Equinox-Thanks for the welcome,But I still am a honda man.She is wanting to tinker a little with the portege'.She thought that she was all bad ass when she had a dohc.So I did some searching on it.I was a little disapointed to find out it only put out 130.To the wheels I'd guess around 103, somewhere in there. But It seems to be a pretty fun car to drive.By the way ,What is the lug pattern on these things?I told you I know nothing about these cars...

Welcome to the board. It's nice to see a fellow Honda lover! I bought the P5 for my wife as well... And, one day after I'm finished enjoying it I'll give it back to her ;)

As for the lug pattern, I think it's 5x114.3.

The P5 takes well to mods! So far with only an axle-back exhaust, SRI intake, and grounding wires, I'm up to 116HP at the wheels! I

Hello Shan and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. (stash)

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! (stash)

as for your wheel question....you will find in the wheel forum a stickied thread at the top that has all the information you will ever need or want to know about proper fitment for the P5...we have a member that has his own performance suspension/wheel/tire shop in the Bay Area and has supplied this information to us...not to mention he and his partner both drive P5's....so he has personally test fit everything. He can and will give club members great deals on wheels and tires..

for the 17 or 18 inch wheel it will depend on the width of the wheel to be definitive as to the best offset.....you are only going to get either a 7 or a 7 1/2 under our fenders...that is as wide as it gets...and it will also depend on the width of the tire you plan on running as to the offset as well.

the widest tire you are going to get in there and stay under the fenders...and not rub...is a 215.....in fact the 215/40/17 is nearly the EXACT same diameter as the stock 16's....so the speedo and odometer stay correct...at least as correct as they are now.

but if you are going with a 17 X 7....and staying with a 205/40/17 you can get away with a +45 with no rubbing...

if you are going with a 17 X 7.5 and say a 215/40/17 you will have to have a +48 offset....

anyway...all the information is in that stickied thread I mentioned....take a peek

Whats up Laser hers is a 02 Blue is I guess what you call it but it is got a littlr purple in it too it looks like.Blown It's nice not to be in here alone. But I have noticed alot of you guys wanting to do no more than beat a civic.come on now shoot higher than that. After you can hang with one car shoot for something better. When I first bought my civic i wanted to hang with the ex civic after i started busting ex 's I wanted the si to see my tail lights then the prelude ,now im busting 3000 gt's ,Built Mustangs Etc.
