Hey guys,

I am new here, but nowhere near new to the mazda world.I have a question regarding finding a replacement master cylinder for my 79 RX-7.I called Mazdatrix, and they said they don't have any,and have no idea when they will get any.I have called local parts places, and they can get a rebuilt unit for me in a few days, but I want new if I can find one. I contacted rock auto after someone on another forum told me to,but I don't have much faith in them having the part even though the site said they could get one in 2 bussiness days. Is there anywhere else I should be looking for this part? I would rather not have to put a 81-85 master cylinder in even though I would then get the better brakes from those years mainly because my car is pretty much all original, and I would like to keep it that way. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the links.I need the brake master, and I contacted the seller of the one you linked for me.I can't believe I didn't think of this myself.I am always on eBay.Thanks again.

I doubt you'll find a new one, but stranger things have happened.
Don't know about 1st gen, but these guys are outstanding for 3rd Gen. RX7 parts and might be worth a try. I can't get re-sale prices through a family business as cheap as they are and shipping is usually 2 to 3 days....free. You will have to use a card though.

Hey Altspace,

I was a former member of NEPOC when my wife had a 2000 Protege ES.I know a person who knows you from the RX-8 club, and NEPOC.I have hung out at gatherings in the past with Oleg. You know him for sure.I live just off the Cape in Carver, and I used to own a 04 RX-8 base 6 speed.
