Well, I got my used(new to me) 07 ms3 cosmic blue about a month and half ago with 40k miles. It currently has BC coilovers, cobb sri, cobb turbo inlet, turbosmart dualport bov, motor mounts, and everything else is stock. I'm looking to put a little more money into it(I think), but it is my DD so I dont want to go crazy. The more i read, the more i'm afraid to put too much money into it(misc problems, break downs, ect.) and eventually I would like to buy a subaru wrx(sorry mazda, unless if you come out with awd).

I dont race it and I'm only home on the weekends, should I just save my money or is there anything that I should be looking into? My "fun" money is $1300+ a month after all my bills are paid, but considering that I'm only home on weekends, it works out nicely.

Hypertech if you want to set it and forget it. Cobb accessport if you want to get it tuned or tune it yourself (goodluck if you choose that route)

Okay, thanks guys. I'm doing some research on the hypertech. Never even knew that was out there. Also, quick question about the hypertech, I have the cobb sri instead of a cai, would that mess up the settings?

There is a seperate hypertech sub forum on the main page. You can find the answers to pretty much any question you may have

Fun Money

Lets see here, $1,300 @ month of fun money is around $15,000 @ year.

So why not save your money on upgrades and trade the MS3 along with your fun money for a 2011 WRX?

The best priced 2011 WRX that i got recently was @ $26,000 plus tax, fees, etc.

I say save the money and go for the WRX. As stated, a brand spanking new WRX can be had for relatively cheap for a new car. And not only are aftermarket choices much more abundant, you're going to start with the same amount of power with AWD instead of FWD.

Thanks for letting me know about thread section. And I'm still young(18) so the wrx wont happen for awhile, or atleast that would be the smarter thing to do.

Well if you're set on keeping it, I'd also say go for the hypertech, but also recommend an upgraded TMIC or a FMIC. You won't net much if any horsepower gains from a CBE; definitely not worth the cost. A downpipe would give you some good gains, but can cause smoking turbo issues. Imo its not worth decreasing the life of the turbo; but that's just me. Could also look into a sts. I've read it drastically improves the feel of shifting.

Okay, thankyou. I already planned on going for fmic, swaybars, wheels&tires, and misc upgrades. But those are the major ones im looking at.
