Pics?? What does it have done to it?

MSP Kirk: no pics right now, i will get some when the weather clears up. as for mods i have a kinetic fmci w/forge rec. valve, 3" cat-back (1 cat deleted) but i am thinking of just getting rid of the remaining cat and run the 3" from downpipe, i also have an intake and some guages ahha...pretty stock for now but i am looking for more things to do to it (maybe unichip, or if i find out a different way i will just get a boost controler and get it tuned locally somehow, and 440 injectors and lowering the car will be also in the plans for summer)

of course i have to look around and learn more about what to do first before i carry on with any of the stuff because this is my first Mazda and first turbo'd car (Im also a VW and Honda guy haha)...so any imput and advice would be great (2thumbs)

Maxx: thanks for the welcome, i live in the deep south of calgary (somerset/shawnessy)

Sweet man I hope you enjoy it as much as I do... I have similar mods as you installed right now, same FMIC and exhaust (i think) as well as CAI and boost controller. A boost controller and some kind of EMS and you'll be happy, probably around 220-250 whp.

that is exactly where i want to be safely. i have a karline custom made muffler lol...is there anything you would recommend? Like what kind of boost controller and EMS to look for and where to look for it?

Well for the 440's you'll need EMS for sure. Bang for the buck, the Split Second AFC will be your best choice. It's like $300 USD, and enables you to run like 12psi safely, on stock internals. I'm on 18psi, but a built engine mind you. Honestly, dont take your car over 9psi on the mods you have now. I was on 8 for 3 months, then went to 10, then thought I was invincible since I was on 10psi and it didn't blow, so I figured what the hell and went to 12. It lasted like a week before it grenaded itself. I was surprised as all hell it went that long.

yeah zoom zoom boom, deffinately want to avoid that lol. i was not planning to raise the boost any time soon without the boost controller and tuning...i just want to get it ready becuse i want to have a couple runs at race city this summer and i want to beat my brother (sibling rivarly lol)

sould i be even looking for those injectors? or will i be fine without them aswell?...i forgot to add, im also going to be running spark plugs a step cooler when i start getting the car together.

Ya I would suggest what Maxx said, go with the Spilt Second AFC, if your not lookign to go to crazy. You could probably run 10-12 psi with stock injetors with the AFC but that would be pushing it. I would rather be safe and get the bigger injectors, mind you at 12 psi I personally would be a bit worried.

Edit: What kind of car does your bro have?

my brother has a 97 vw gti...it is a 2.0l but he has a eip stage 2 turbo kit using a brand new 50 trim garret t3-to4 (i think thats the name of it) turbo along with some other goodies and proper fuel injection and tuning making it easy for him to run 18psi safely, unlike me yet :(

both of us are new to turbos but the advantage he has is he bought his complete from a guy who ran 12sec 1/4 in the states (but a different, bigger turbo) so he does not have to worry about finding the ems and such because it is all there and pre-tuned where i am still looking and bothering people with alot of questions ahah

he is going for high 13's with the smaller turbo and calgary being at an higher elevation...im pretty sure i can do that with proper tuning on top of what i have now...what do you think?

I might be selling my Unichip soon, it controls timing, fuel and has a boost controller. Also, it is the new version which can be tuned via pda.

Ya man with exhaust, intake, fmic, EMS, and boost controller set at 10-12 psi you could run high 13's for sure. With basically all that and boost controller set at about 10psi but no EMS I have beat a stock SRT-4 and they run low 14's so you should be good to go!

im not really looking to spend crazy money on the car and i do not have the space to do the work at home. i am a student at sait so i do not really have much time or money neither ahha. i just want to keep it simple/stock as possible but then i also want to be able to run it on the track a couple times aswell (evil)
but as for spotting my car, i don't think it was me sorry...i still havent driven this car all winter long since i got it (i drove it for 2 days in total lol) (msptitani

you will proly see me around lots in the spring and summer time
