Mazda 626 GC project

Hello everyone,

This is my first post in this forum, i hope not the last.

I'm the happy owner of a Mazda 626 -1987, it has few mods:

12 valve head
FE intake manifold
42 pounds/hr injectors
Megasquirt ECU

All the work made by JKK MECANICA in Bogot, Colombia.

I'm planning to buy a turbocharger, but first i want to improve the gearbox, so I want a LSD, I know Quaife in UK have one for the 626, but i need it in Bogota so its to expensive to bring it from UK, if anyone has information about it, ill appreciate any information you can give me.

If your 626 has a g-series transmission (uses a 225mm clutch) check out what some of the BG model protege owners are running for limited slip diffs. They use the same transmissions and you should be able to source out a limited slip.

Is your car still a 2.0?

yes it has the 2.0L engine.... thank you for the answer, l but i don't know which transmission series my car has, anyway i'll look for the protege differential if it doesnt work for my car i'll have to save money to buy the quaife LSD.

the next upgrade for my 626 its goin to be the lsd and act clucth , but im thinking about replace front and rear brakes with mazda 6 brakes, the main modification i'm planning is the turbocharger......

Suspension perhaps? wheels?

of course, a better suspension is absolutely necessary, also i want new wheels and tires but all that stuff are expensive, so i have to do it step by step....

Are you going to use the F2T turbo or make yourself a custom setup?

the idea is a custom setup, but i dont know which turbo i may use....

What happened at 3800 rpm? The power takes a big hit on the dyno sheet.

the higher torque is at about 2600 RPM then it goes down and at 4300 RPM the torque is 105 Ftlb

B&G Springs

After almost a year I continue showing my project.....

No big modifications have been made just new B&G springs and regular maintenance, here some pics:

also i'm doing an ECU upgrade, radiotator fans will be operated by the MS, a MSII chip and DIS ignition system are going to be installed.

Also a new radiator and two 12 in fans were installed. However, sometimes i have overheating issues, but only at low speeds, in trafict jams, i think is because the fans (made in China) are not good enough.
