New brakes at 10K miles?

Just took my 2008 CX-9 with only 10300 miles to the dealer because the break pedal and steering wheel vibrate when breaking. The mechanic took off the wheels and showed me the rotors. The insides of all 4 rotors are fairly badly grooved and rusted. I drive every day, but not that much, so yeah, the mileage is not a typo.

Since the car is over 12 months old, they say Mazda will not pay for it. And the dealer says there is no way to resurface the rotors, everything has to be replaced.

Anyone else with similar experience?
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

I bought my car used and it has the same problem. But im just going to buy some decent aftermarket rotors and be done with it. Its annoying though.

Wow!

40K miles on mine in 2 years and am probably due for an inspection shortly, but 10K sounds defective....

Like SeCX-9, the rotors on my CX9 are still rated as "good condition" by Mazda mechanic after 33K miles. Don't know what is going on here, but some rotors might have been poorly made.
I did follow the break-in procedure carefully on all my vehicles (if that matters that much....)

I had the rotor replace after 10K km. The rotor was warping, and the brake pad had uneven worn surface. Lucky for me, it was under warranty. Now, my CX-9 is almost 70K km and the probelm is back. Will send for servicing in 2 days time, and definitely requesting the service center to replace the rotor and brake pads.

I replaced my rotors and brakes at the 30K ish mile range. Rotors were warped and rear pads were low even though delaership rated them as "good condition". 2 months later when I complained about the brake pulsation, the dealership offered to resuface rotors and replace pads for $540ish ot replace front rotors and pads for $740ish. I bought aftermarket rotors and pads and did the work myself for $340ish and 20k later no issues. Of note, the warping on my rotors started at 10k, but this might have been due to a tire rotation with over-torquing of the lugs.

12500 miles on 2007 CX-9 GT AWD. Front brake pads shot, rotors had severe rusting and had to be machined. I had new pads installed. I have a feeling original rotors are of poor material quality causing problems with this low a milage.

I was told by Mazda Service Centre that the new rotor has arrived but still awaiting for the heat shield. My understanding is that the front rotor will be replaced with an upgrade rotor (perforated type) which is slightly smaller than the stock. Hopefully, my CX-9 can get the replacement done soon.
