How did this go....? there is a 6K from the grove street fire station this sat. We might do that.

I can't do a 6K this Sat, but if you are doing any other races, holla!

So yeah, I ran an excellent f'ing time (for myself). I was hoping to get under 9 min/miles and I managed to do 8:35! 26:36 gun time, but I think my actual time was about 15-30 seconds faster, because it took a bit of time to cross that starting line. They didn't measure the net time though. Here's a writeup of impressions and some pictures.

I damn near died sprinting towards the end. My watch showed a max heart rate of 204. Heh.

The technics SL-1200's still go for big bugs on eBay. They're the popular choice for DJ's and mixers. They haven't made many changes to the design over the years but they still sell for $600/new

There's a dude in NJ that mods 1200s. He puts out an outboard box for RCAs (so you can replace those thin-ass stock RCAs), replaceable power cord, 78rpm playing feature, misc little things. With a great cartridge, a 1200 sounds great.

Awesome! Next time you do a run let me know. Amanda and I have been jogging lately and we average 8-9 minute miles. It would be fun to do a race just to be among other running enthusiasts.

I'm doing the JP Morgan 2009 corporate challenge (3.5mi) with my coworkers at the end of June, but I'm hoping to throw another 5K in June, or maybe early July. If you are also thinking doing one, let me know...

That's a bit soon for Amanda...her ankle is still bothering her from that intense antiquing we did at Limerock. I'd like to do a run in July or August, 5K or possibly 10K.

I just heard a good suggestion: there's a lot of 5Ks that take place around the July 4th weekend. May be a good time to do a 5K in the morning and a BBQ in the afternoon.

Yeah, that might be fun. I'll have to see if we have anything planned yet for that weekend but I'm pretty sure we are free on the 4th.

I just did a 5k this morning with all my students. We had 200+ students running in formation and it took us about 35 mins to complete.
