Remember when....

haha...i don't know who's face is the scariest!

You must be excited Chris.

Nice work Mark. I hate painting.

So I've been driving a old Focus Wagon for work. 05 with 282,000 kilos on it. They gave me a 2010 Transit. Basically a box with a Focus drivetrain. It's in great shape and can now deliver large body parts that wouldn't fit in the Wagon. Has cruise and power windows which the wagon doesn't have.

Motorhome is still on track for the end of April.

i love painting...you get instant gratification!

looking forward to finishing the back of the house tomorrow!

It's the prep and cleanup that I detest.

Holiday to day. Cleaning out the apt to get ready to leave. Man a ton of junk.

Off to mom and dads tomorrow and sunday.

I'm getting a bit edgy. Just about every shipping review I found stated CA->NH was about 7-8 days. They picked the truck up last Tuesday and said it could be 7-9 days. 9 days would have been yesterday. With no call yet today, getting it tomorrow is looking grim. I called the driver, the number I got from the shipping company, and it went to a generic voicemail and left a cold message. I'm sure the vehicle is fine...but WTF is taking so long. 12+ days for a 7 day job? It's not like I live in the boonies, I'm 45 minutes from downtown Boston.

where's the truck chris!!! jk, it will show up soon....

got 1/2 of the house done...

So this Volvo V70 pulled up into my apartment complex while I was messing with the MS6.. I noticed the throatier sounding exhaust tone and a turbo-snail picture on the back glass. I told him that the car sounds good and we struck up a convo about cars.

He popped the hood and my jaw dropped. It was completely modded and was just sick looking. This car was the best sleeper I have ever seen. It looks like a dopey grocery getter wagon on the outside, but omg the work in it to put power to the ground was amazing.

Looks good Mark
thanks bruce, getting there!

i saw one on youtube....unbelievable!

The REPU arrived
* 3 days late
* Absolutely filthy (owner washed it before pickup)
* White interior covered in black grease
* Dead Battery

I jumped it with the MS6 and got it to turn over. At first the carb was bone dry but it eventually started squirting. I got a couple fires, a few back fires, but it mostly just turns over and does nothing. Probably flooded now.

I really haven't had time to absorb the vehicle. Paint will look amazing once I wash it. The bench seat is way too cushy and I barely fit in. The previous owner gave me another seat back to install but it has to be reupholstered. He also gave me a new bumper for the front because the one on the truck has a dent. I honestly didn't notice it. I think it is hidden by the license plate anyway.

Take pictures of how it is right now, then compare to pics from the seller when it was loaded (they should have taken them) so there's immediate proof. They should def reimburse.

Not sure what company you used. When we had my dad's stang shipped, we used Mayflower from CA (the big green 40' enclosed trailers).

yay, finally...sorry to hear of the condition...can't wait to see some pics!

I got tons of photos that were taken while the driver was getting me to sign the delivery slip. There was no post inspection on the sheet I signed and I noted to the driver several times the grime and the fact it was running when it was picked up.

...but some great news!!!!!

IT RUNS!!!!

Lui from Wankel Works gave me a few pointers. I pulled the plugs and ran the engine to get the excess fuel out. Cleaned the plugs, put her all back together, and after some more turning over (and less pumping of the gas pedal) it finally caught. I took it for a quick spin around the block. Tons of back firing at first but she settled down on my second pass. There are a few issues I have to work out though. The clutch is losing pressure. I was having trouble getting it out of the driveway but eventually revved the engine and pumped the clutch to get it in gear. Also, no interior lights so I had no idea what rpms I was running until I heard the buzzer. Exhaust sounds amazing. It turns like a freight train (no P/S obviously). The cabin is very cramped with the seat the previous owner installed. I have the original seat but it would have to be reupholstered to match.

Yeah, the V70R is extremely impressive. Not sure if it was an R or not. I've always wanted one. That or an S60R.

That's a big no-no.

If it was the V70R you couldn't tell.. Just said V70 on the back and no R rims on it. It literally looked like a soccer-practice hauler.

There was really no "post inspection" portion of the document to check off. When I called the shipper I just got voicemail. The back of the sheet has me a bit confused. It basically lists them not being liable for anything that could possibly happen, incuding damage due to transmission or oil leaks. Seriously? The shipper isn't going to cover someone else's car spewing fluid all over your paint job? Anyway, it lists they are not liable for damage to interior. That doesn't mean i'm not going to b**** to high hell about it and warn them that every transport review site will have a link to the photos I took. I'd hate to see what the inside of that Rolls Royce looks like. Can you imagine?
