I had my car at the dealership yesterday, and while looking over my engine(which they shouldn't even have been doing), one of the guys told me I was missing a cap that is supposed to go on the BOV, under the vacuum line we use. He said that it is supposed to be plugged up. Is he right? I've never heard anyone say it was supposed to be. (dunno)

now you got me curious, ill check mine when i get home. I fairly certain that there isnt one.

I added a pic...this is the one I'm talking about. Mine is just as shown, and he said his friends is covered. He didn't say what kind of car it was though.

i've never plugged it before, any lots of different cars. i believe its a secondary vaccum source.

What's weird about mine right now, is that I get a real quick pop(like the turkey sound), then a woosh sound. Other times, it's just a woosh sound, and other times it almost sounds like a damn whistle I tried adjusting the knob, and couldn't find a good consistent sound. Maybe that whistle sound is air coming out of that little vaccuum line??

cap it and try it.. im sure it wont blow ur car up.. i hope -=P
btw.. when u want me to get u the money for that part?

Do not cap that off. The GReddy BOV manual states that it should be left open to the atmosphere.

did David ever fax that paper to you? neither of you got back to me...I can just pay for it when ever it comes in.

yeah i called him back.. sorry i been dealing wth retards here. -=\
just let me know what i owe u -=P

Actually it's supposed to be hooked up to a boost source (a 'vacuum' source that never sees vacuum). It makes the BOV react quicker. It's in the manual.

i took this from www.blowoffvalves.com

Q: What is the 2nd bottom port for?

A: The 2nd port can be used to help lift up the diaphragm under low vacuum conditions. If you are experiencing surge before your pressure release, hook up the 2nd port to your turbo pressure line. The vaccum at the top of the diaphragm and the boost pressure under the diaphragm will help it open faster. Keep in mind that the valve will not stay open as long using this method, so the sound will not be as loud.
