**NEED HELP** finding rod bearings..burning oil?!?!? More...

Guys and gals, need help finding rod bearings for my MP3. Here's the problem I know I messed up and drove my car @5800-6000 miles since the last oil change but I HAVE ALWAYS ran mobil 1 FULL synthetic oil and this last time I was on my way to get the oil changed when I heard a knocking tapping noise. I stopped and checked the oil and it was BONE DRY!!! So I threw a couple quarts in RIGHT AWAY and then went to get the oil changed. Now oil has been changed and STILL the knocking noise!
1) Why would I burn oil that fast? (no smoking problems that I have seen)
2) I had a friend listen to it (tech at Ford) and he said it sounds like the rod bearings! Is this sould right?
PLEASE HELP!! I drive @ 110 miles a day to and from work and need to fix this FAST!!!

Thanks

Its the bearings. Toga makes replacements. Bearings are known to go since the oil in the pan shifts on turns and considering u went so long w/o oil change. Also i would check for leaks just in case. Mobil 1 isn't impervious to wear just better, with mobil 1 you can get away with 5k-7k oil change intervals under normal-hard driving conditions

Hear bad things about them...

Heard they are not very good...

No, they're fine. The dead edge just isnt machined as well as the stockers.

You can buy stock bearings from your Mazda dealership for less than the Tongas, and they should last longer anyway.
