MZD Connect firmware update stuck at 19–21% and frozen radio (Mazda 3 2015 EU)

Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’m having major issues updating the Mazda Connect system on my Mazda 3 (2015, EU model).

My current firmware version is 56.00.513 EU N. I’ve read that in order to reach the latest 74.00.324A EU N version, it’s recommended to first update to 70.00.100A EU N.
So, I downloaded 70.00.100A, placed it on a USB stick together with the failsafe file, and followed the instructions (failsafe first, then reinstall package with codes 3 and 2).

The problem:
The update always gets stuck between 19% and 21%, then the system restarts and shows an "unsuccessful update" message. I’ve already tried:

- Removing and reinserting the ROOM fuse multiple times.

- Restarting with the BACK + NAV + VOLUME combination.

- Using a FAT32-formatted USB stick (32 GB).

- Repeating the whole procedure from scratch.

At the moment, the radio is completely frozen.
After attempting the update, the Check Engine light also appeared (it wasn’t there before), although I was told it’s unrelated to the CMU update.

Some clarifications:

- I have NOT installed any CarPlay/Android Auto hardware module.

- I do not have firmware 59.00.546 (not sure if it’s required as an intermediate step).

- I’m unsure if I should try updating directly to 74.00.324A or if that’s risky.

- I don’t know if downgrading to an older version (e.g., 31.00.xxx) is possible.

I’d really appreciate if anyone who has experienced a similar issue could guide me through the correct procedure, or possibly share the correct firmware files for the update.
Any suggestions are very welcome, as I’m currently stuck.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
