My review of the MSP

So I finally did get my car today and am totally impressed with the car in every aspect. The car drives so nice and handles amazingly! It really is a blast to drive! It's really nice when you hear the turbo start to spool. I didn't go any higher than 4000 rpm, but you can here it start to spool probably at about 3500rpm. Man, the car is addicting to drive. I really didn't want to stop driving it all night. In this car YOU WILL GET NOTICED cause the orange really stands out. Personally, I love the color. People will stare and point.

The system to car is really nice for stock. Everyone that I showed the car to could not beleive that the deck was stock. The feature with the face flipping over when the car is turned off is really cool! The sound is high quality.

The seats are comfortable and do provide good support. I will still eventually get racing seats, but the stock ones look good and feel good for what they are.

The car is eveything that I expected and the some. Mazda has gone out of their way to make a car with this much stuff for such a good value. There was only one flaw on the car. There is a paint crack on the truck beneath the spoiler. I will be contacting my dealer about this tomorrow. Nothing else though.

congradualtions...man I should move to BC.

So, let's ask this guy 1000 questions now :) Give digi a break so he can enjoy the car for a while :)

Seriously though, did you see the autoweeks video's and the home video's of the car that was posted on my ftp? Which one is the color closest too in your opinion. Every picture and video I see it in it's different shade of orange. Is it more pumpkin'ish, hot orange'ish, or bronze'ish.... ish ish... :)

I guess Digi could answer this too.

enjoy that thing, I'm jealous.

First off, Congradulations on your purchase!
I'm glad you stuck with it, and your enjoying it! :D
Secondly, i'll begin by asking the 1st question of the 1000 question that you'll be getting soon...hehe :D

is there 3 headrest in the rear? this has been bothering me, since i noticed digi168's car not having any of them

I'm sure all the people that got that Impreza RS or SE-R are kicking themselves now.(rofl)

why? because 2 out of a couple thousand got a car? everybody else should be banging down the god damn doors at mazda protesting for their cars.

best of luck to the 2 that got thier cars. hope they fixed whatever little bugs they may have had in them:rolleyes:

Thanks everyone! First off, I have to restate what I said about the paint crack. It wasn't actually cracking. It was jsut the left over glue from the white film on the car. You can easily remove it with some scrubbing. I am really glad that i stuck with this car because it is well wortht the wait! I've had my deposit at my dealership since early August only to find out at the time that i would not be guaranteed one. Therefore, I had to put a deposit at another dealership as well to try to guarantee myself this car. There were times that I wanted to give up on this car, but nothing else really excited me. I want to say to the people that can't wait, you will really regret it if give up only to find that your car comes a week later.

No there is only 2 in the back. The center person gets the shaft!

Yes the color is more that of a pumpkin. Shine some light on it though and the gold really comes out! No picture will ever do justice to the color of this car. It really has to been seen in person to fully enjoy and see the true beauty of it.

Oh yeah, the Mazdaspeed on the tach does not light up. I wish it did. And, all the badging front and rear are in brushed aluminum, not chrome. It really looks good! Any other Q's, just ask.

So Gyro, how much gas have you gone through? :D and when you finish your tank of gas from the dealer let me know what kind of mileage you are getting I would like to compare, since I don't think that I am getting optimal mileage right now, I find myself a little heavy on the gas, I know on my MP3 I could get close to 500km (300mi) to a tank of gas but I seem to be off the mark with this one. Maybe after the novelty wears off and I slow down a little the mileage will go up. :D

What mileage are you getting with the MSP so far Digi?

What's the MSP gas tank size? Thanks.

Think we can get away with using octane 89 in the winter?

Personally, I wouldn't go any lower than 91 Octane cause it clearly states to use 91 and above octane for the car. I really want to baby this car b/c it is so rare and limited.

Hey Digi, hope you're having as much fun as I am with car :D. I really couldn't give you an accurate reading for now b/c I have to commute to work everyday so i am putting highway kms on the car. I'd have to wait until March to get a fair city driving mileage.

Honestly, as hard as I try, it's almost impossible not speed in the car. I'm not saying excessive, but enough to get a ticket (haven't gotten one yet).

Just for the record, in the MP3 i get about 450 kms in the winter to a tank.

Hope the MSP ain't much worse. I used to get 500-550 when she was new....crap, what happened there?

gyros or digi,
did the msp not come with cruise control? did a search w/o results other than JasonH suggesting the production model did. just wondering. if not, is there a space on the steering wheel for dealer installation, since the s/w looks just like what the P5 has.

Just three? You deserve it if you thought of it 1st. I just remember someone inquiring a while ago. I'd consider takin' the msp on long trips, if need be..since the question of mileage came up.
