My new daily driver and project...

Thanks Steve.

The next two mods are an intake system and a Sprint Booster.

that's not one of those BS DBW pedal 'enhancers' is it?

BMW's are known for having problematic cooling systems
hey that sounds like my APB! :D

except the plastic impellers in my water pump like to break off from the housing completely and since it's timing belt driven, it also takes out the whole engine with it. It acutaly happened to me about 10,000 miles after I first owned it, luckily it didn't break off completely. Otherwise my first mod would have been 2 new cylinder heads.

It is like the BS DBW pedal enhancer. It plugs right in to throttle by wire from the pedal to the ECU.

I've driven 6 different late model BMWs, a Infiniti G35c, and a Mazda RX8 R3 with the Sprint Booster installed. They do make a difference.

I'm sure they do, I would just never use one.

Why not skip that and just get a tune down the road? I know they work, but they seem like a hokey way of doing it by manipulating the signal rather than changing the limits of it.

Software for this car really does not make a difference. It basically just rises the rev limiter and top speed limiter. So with an autotragic the rev limiter would not help me. I would see higher gains with an intake and exhaust.

ditto, the I6 already uses 91 right?

Even still, throw the intake and exhaust on, drop the money for the tune, and it'll drive better. I've yet to be in a car (NA or turbo) where a tune hasn't improved the overall driving of the car. Obviously you're not looking for breakneck speed in it, but giving it some added pep and optimizing the ignition/engine more than it came with stock is never a bad thing.

it usualy goes like this for N/A german OTS tunes:

$500 now
6hp/8ft/lbs later

It uses 93 octane. Which gets expensive depending on the station I stop at.

One of my co-workers owns both a 00 328ci and 01 330ci both with autos and he has the software installed on both and there is no big difference. My next BMW is going to be a manual that is for sure.

you ain't got nothing on me. I decided after my protege to only use top tier 93, so that means shell/texaco/BP.. all the places that are always 5-7cents more expensive.(breakn)

I think I managed 22.7MPH comming down here.. Granted I was doing 70-80 most of the time <_<

Nice toy, Mikey! :)

Thanks Jen.

22.7 mpg? hehe...I have been averaging 28 to 32 in the 325xi doing that speed.
