My new amp and sub install.. MTX amp and JL 10W0 sub in a SubZone sealed enclosure all wired up with some Stinger wires. Sunds great for a free sub and inexpensive enclosure and amp :) Now I need some new door speakers though :(

P.S. I need to do some cable management also, at this point I was merely getting the amp to work.

Cool.

For cable management, you can just get some split loom tubing and wrap it up. Or, if you feel adventurous, you could braid or twist all the small wires together. Personally, I'd cut a slit in the carpet and run the wires under the carpet to the side or the center console (where the power wire seems to come from).

no need to cut the carpet, there is a hole on the other side of the amp for the rear psngr feet heat you can route the cables nice enough through that along the amp with some tie wraps... its where my x overs for my Z's are and i think they are bigger then that amp....

hey have you had any problems with the box staying in place? because i've tried putting carpet grabber type stuff under my box and it still moves around.

either screw it to the back of the seat...or use industrial velcro... or use a bungee with the little storage clip thingies on the side of the trunk... each one has its + and -

industrial supply shop... try home depot or something?? grainger, fastenall, mcmastercarr... they have websites... some one else may have a better idea, i just gank a piece here and there from work...

Be careful when using these as they are all plastic and DO break. One of mine has broken already. If you have a HB, you can use the seat belt anchor(s) on the back of the rear seats. These are metal and are bound to be more solid.

Mine actually hasnt moved at all so far..Ive only had it in for a couple of days but so far its no sliding around..I thought I was going to have to buy an L brace and screw it down, but so far there hasnt been a need.

I imagine you'll want your box up against your back seat facing backwards? I am planning to build a new box that will be the width of the trunk but not very deep. I was racking my brain trying to figure out a way to keep it in place, but yet easily removeable, when I came up with an idea - hopefully I'll be able to explain it well enough to make sense:

Take a long piece of metal about 45-46" long X 2-3" wide X 1/8" thick, paint it black so it will blend in with the trunk carpeting, and screw it to the back of your box. Fold down your rear seats and slide the box into the resulting trunk opening from the cabin. Since the trunk is only ~40" wide, the extra 2.5" on each end of the metal bar will lay up against the sides of the trunk seat supports. When you put the seats back up over the bar, it will be solidly held in and the sub box won't move anywhere. When you want to remove the sub for whatever reason, just put the seats down again and pull the sub out from the cabin again. This way requires no alterations to the car at all.

This is what I'm going to do, but I have a HB and I don't know how much different it is from a sedan.
