My 1991 Black on Black 20B Cosmo here in USA. Its one of 5 or so street legal Cosmo in USA.

Nothing much is done to it now.. Just cleaned it, maintenance stuff, KN cone filter (since stock filters are way too expensive), Forgeline 3 piece rims, Tein HA coilovers (not yet installed), etc..

Me and Bryan from BNR Supercars (www.bnrturbos.com) just purchased a front clip of another 20B Cosmo.. so, I'm going to start modifying stuff out of that car..

Here are few pics of the car.. Pics taken My Michael Youm @ my event, 'Deals Gap Rotary Rally'.

G'day from down under.

Great pics of your Cosmo. From looking at the interior colour & seatbelt design, I suspect you have a Type-SX. Looks wierd seeing a rhd Cosmo taking a corner in your lhd world.......

Pass on your JDM VIN please. I'll tell you the exact build date

EG... JCESE100839 = 14-MAY-90
EG... JCES 100190 = 31-JAN-95 (My personal Cosmo)

I AM SO JEALOUS!!!(wow)

So does it take a little time getting used to sitting on the wrong side of the car when driving?

Lovely car, and I would love to know more details on how you found it.

ENJOY!

Glad to see you've posted about your new "acquisition", Phil! (thumb)

Great shots of your Cosmo in action...I'm happy to have another EC owner on the forums...I believe there are now a handful of EC owners lurking on the forums from all over the world.

As I mentioned via PM, I'm really looking forward to see what you do with that front clip and your overall progress...Be sure to keep us up to date with lots o' (pics)

www.bnrturbos.com is the shop that can modify/upgrade the stock 20B turbos, correct?
.

Over the past few days I been busy parting out the front clip.. Mostly to have spare parts and also to see how things are put together.. Here are few pics of the project..

Unfortunately the panels/fenders got damaged during the shipping and the company has agreed to send good fenders to me..

Yep. They can upgrade the turbos for you. But with my experience with getting my other 20B build, I suggest removing the exhaust sleeve might help with quicker spool. When my current motor goes out, I'll be rebuilding it with sleeves off and either go with BNRs or single.

Thanks for the pics and additional info...(2thumbs)

Man...It will always be painful to look at pics of a chopped up Eunos Cosmo...:( At least many of those parts may find themselves into your Cosmo...:)

I've heard about modifying/removing exhaust sleeves...Their main purpose is noise reduction, correct? Besides quicker spool, are there any other advantages (better high-end power?) and or disadvantages when removing or modifying them?

As for the turbos themselves...I plan on keeping the stock sequential setup but upgrading the system someday...I wonder if it's possible to upgrade the stock turbos with high-flow units (like from BNR) but also run ball bearings and have these turbos bolt up to the stock 20B turbo manifold?

I know.. It hurts me to see it.. But I had to get one for parts as sourcing them out seperately was far more expensive than getting a clip..

Well, to me, and I could be wrong.. but I believe mazda put more restrictive sleeves in to lower the HP. Don't forget that most japanese companies were following the 'Gentlemen's rule' by not passing the 300HP mark.

I did talk to BNR about this.. And he did mention something about ball bearing turbos. Personally, I have no plans to upgrade stock turbos... as I don't think tranny will hold up.. At this point, I'm just want it to handle bit better and brake faster:)

Here is a picture from yesterday.. It was a beautiful day and I decided to take a drive with all my rotaries.. Of course.. one by one..

Actually I have 2 more rotaries that's not pictured....

regarding the steering wheel.. I have one but most likely I'll be keeping that... and pretty much everything that came out of the car... I'm more about holding on to the parts then trying to part it out.. you should see my garage with all the FD parts... I could probably put 4-5 FDs together.. LOL!
