MSP Spark Plugs - Interesting....

Hey Everyone,

Just an interesting bit of info.:

The MSP spark plugs are NGK - PZFR6F. These are the same ones offered as optional (cold-type plugs) in the 2.3L Millenia S (Supercharged).

I wonder why they changed from the BKR5E-11 to the PZFR6F, as opposed to the BKR6E-11.

Here's a picture of the difference between the PZFR6F and the BKR6E-11:

Hmm....anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Cheers.

Could you give us some more info on the difference between the plugs so we can whip up a theory? :D

they look like platinum tipped. with a colder plug, they would keep knocking down. good idea with a turbo engine, too.

Hey Guys/Gals,

This is the question I'm asking:

Why use the PZFR6F instead of the BKR6E-11 (which is in the same BKR family as the stock 2.0L plugs)?

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Cheers.

Hi,

I've read all the threads about spark plugs and I know why we've chosen the BKR7E-11 for our turbo charged applications.

I'm trying to drum up a technical conversation regarding why Mazda used the PZFR family as opposed to the BKR family on the MAZDASPEED Protege.

what do the different letter codes mean?

i'm afraid that i am not a tech guru when it comes to plugs and codes.
