MS6 FMIC Having Problems

Ok I just Installed a FMIC from Altered Customs and a Corksport SRI at the same time yesterday. I installed the Corksport first with the TMIC still installed reved it a couple of time and noticed nothing unusual. After the complete Install of the FMIC, I did a complete leak check on all the hoses and clamps (could have missed one), and took it out for a drive. In first gear you don't notice anything do the the lovely sound of the SRI, but when in second gear and I floor it, it sounds like its leaking from somewhere. You can hear the turbo spool but the car goes nowhere. When looking for a loose clamp, I had a friend of mine give it some gas only to see smoke coming from the back of the engine bay (probably the turbo). Also after driving when I approach a red light or stop sign and come to a halt, my car seriously drops from 1000 rpms idling to about 500 rpms, almost dies out and goes back up to about 1000k So my question is: What the HELL is wrong? Do I need a retune? Is it too much air without an upgraded ecu? Could a loose clamp really cause it to drop 500 rpms when you let off the gas and come to a stop?

Your ECU is trying to get use to the extra air.Same thing happen to me when I put my intake on.Also make sure you didn't blow a coupler off.I dont know what you use to tune your car but I know a AP will let you up your RPM's at idle.

Yea Applejuice its not the sri im worried about. Im worried about the front mount intercooler being f'ed up

make something like this, its basically a coupler from home depot, drill a hole in it and put a valve stem in it and put glue and what not around it so it doesn't leak. if you search the internet you can fine other examples...here is mine, since you have the corksport inlet i'd take the pipe off the turbo and do it from there since you don't want to pressurize your crankcase through the valve cover.

Vacuum leak.
I had the same issues w/my Miata after my fmic install.
Recheck all lines, clamps & hoses.
