MS3 Recall coming soon

I talked to a different dealer yesterday because they had a black sport, I wanted to see what a black one looks like.
He asked me if I had had mine in for recall work yet and i was like.... Recall work?

He told me the torque is to strong and the engine moves too much so they are putting the MS6 engine mounts on it vs the standard 3 mounts it has.

I feel the same way, the engine move way too much!! You can actually feel the engine and trans move during shifting and it makes a strange noise when you shift too. I am going to put the MS6 mount even if they dun have a recall.

Yeah, it's probably better than the MS6 mount.

If by better you mean makes your car shake like a race car, yes. I have AWR mounts in my Protege and I'm not willing to live with it rattling my interior this much. Yeah sure they keep the engine firmly in place, but at what cost?

See link in my sig.

AWR mounts for the mazda3 does NOT add any vibrations in the cabin.

mounts? like front and rear.. and it adds no vibrations? that's ridiculous!

and a 30 minute install for rear motor mount.. WOW.

The AWRs come in different stiffnesses from a 70 to a 90 or something. Supposedly 70 has little if any vibration but stronger than stock, 90 some vibration. Do you know what yours are rated?

I have 70 front and rear and it's hellish :P

But from what Nutari said it seems like maybe with the 3 it's a totally different world. The engine in the Protege is a very old design, it doesn't have that harmonic balancing unit driven by the crank like the 3 does.. I bet that helps a lot.

i wouldn't say there aren't any vibrations... you can feel when the compressor for the ac turns on for sure and at idle there is a slight humm but nothing nasty like you are saying the protege has.

watch that dyno video someone posted.

Oh and it does make a weird noise when shifting, I always figured it did that on every car cuz it was my first manual
