MP3 trade / MSP pricing

I have been toying with the Idea of trading my MP3 in on a MSP.

I think I would rather do this instead of getting a turbo kit for my MP3. I like my MP3 but I would rather have the warranty and I don't want to have to worry about the engine blowing up.

So my question is, what kind of prices are people getting on new 2003.5 MSPs and also what are people getting on MP3 trades.
I have about 26,000 miles on it.

This probably won't happen because I don't want my payment to change much, but I like to think about it.

Think about selling the MP3 privately. You can probably get an extra grand or more out of it than you would with a tradein. Find some high schooler from Middleton whos parents are loaded and tell him its worth $18,500 :).

I thought about that, but on a trade, I would save the sales tax on the value of the trade, it would be about $700.

Still, if I was serious, I would definately test the private market. I like to push dealers though.... next time I am in for an oil change I will chitchat and see what they say.

BTW, sorry to hear about your car, that sucks....

As for trade in value, I was offered $10k when I went to look for a different car. Not even close to what I was looking for and they wouldn't deal, so I walked. So I'm selling it myself, and not going to buy a new car when I do sell it.
