Does anybody know if the swaybars offered on Mazdastuff.com would fit our cars. They are under the Protege accessories, or aftermarket parts. I think they are the ones on the MP3's. Just curious and looking for something to spend my money on. if I would quit buying small things, I could have wheels, suspension, and a turbo. (Future)
Thanks guys,
Mike

yes, they will.

next time, search please?

I dunno, somebody on another forum I was talking to brought up Roger Foo (protege 5 race driver) and I wanted to link them to pics and info on them on this forum. I KNEW there had been a bunch of threads and posts about him but when I serched I didn't find jack. Sometimes you just need to ask again.

No they wont - not safely.

From Racingbeat -

"...Many of the suspension parts that were included on the Protege MP3 cannot be easily installed on the non-MP3 model. When designing the suspension for the MP3, it was decided that the endlink mounting flange on the side of the shock absorber would need to be reinforced to accommodate a larger diameter swaybar. The Tokico shock used on the MP3 features this reinforced endlink mounting flange. For this reason, the use of the MP3 swaybars on other Protege models is not recommended, as damage to the stock shocks is possible. Further, to accommodate the use of larger diameter sway bars, the rear subframe was modified to allow additional clearance for the larger swaybar bushing and mounting bracket. Click on the photos below to see close-up photos of these modifications.

The Tokico shocks and swaybars that are equipped on the MP3 can only be purchased through Mazda at time.

UPDATE: We have received word that Tokico will be releasing HP and Illumina shocks for the Sedan and Protege 5 applications in the summer/fall of 2002. We do not have a firm delivery date at this time. These shocks will be compatible with aftermarket sway bars and will be fitted with the reinforced endlink mounting flange.
