Hey, do we all have different "factory" alarm systems installed? More like dealership specific alarm systems, huh?
I just noticed that the perimeter alarm that Mazda installed is not the same item described in their manual book they gave me. Unless they installed it differently in my car.
In the "Mazda" security manual book (tiny pamplet consisting 5-6 pages) there is a diagram that shows where the override button is under the steering wheel/dash board. I took a peek under there and did not find any override button.
The reason being is that I wanted to follow the instructions of the manual to see why my alarm went off this morning (there's like three different codes description in the manual for setting off the alarm), since it has never gone off unintentionally the eight months I've had this car. The manual doesn't work for me, so I have no idea what I can read off from the fast blinking red flashes on the dash board.
What I did see under the dash was a big rectangular box that said something like, "Mazda Vehicle Security System" ... and not far from it a smaller pager-sized box called, Code Alarm IR-S (Impact Sensor). Does everyone else have this as well?
I'm just curious, because now I want to try and find out if there are any features that I can learn from this system (if there is anything available to learn from it at all)... unfortunately, the Mazda handbook doesn't show me anything valid to use.
