Moving to a new dealership in area for service???

I keep reading these posts were people have little problems taken care of, almost without question, at their dealerships. I can not say the same about the dealership I bought my car from. Every issue I've brought up to them they have passed off and dismissed. Driver seat rocks, headlights aimed a bit low and today I asked about the "drips" inside the passenger headlight that have been there from day one, and I was told, there's nothing they can really do about it. They said I would need to have standing water in the light before they took action. I said I didn't think it was moisture at as I never see a change regardless of weather conditions.

So I kind of feel like 3 strikes there out! Won't fix the seat, don't know how to adjust headlights and won't request replacement of headlight!!! What's the etiquette about going to a different dealership with these problems that's near by? I'm about half way between two Mazda dealers. Ones just Mazda the other is Mazda and VW. This is my first brand new car so I've never really dealt with dealerships and service departments before. Am I going to be a lesser customer in their minds cause I didn't buy the car from the dealership I want to know go to? Is it likely that I would get different answers to the same problems I asked the other service department? Advice on what to do please?

Dealers make money in the service department, not in new car sales. Go wherever you have the best experience. Anyone will be happy to have you. It doesn't matter where you bought the car.

I definitely don't think you will be seen as a lesser customer. For one, they should be more than happy to help because they'll get paid. Secondly, if you tell them about the poor service by the other dealer, your new dealer should work harder to satisfy you so as to retain your business for any future servicing need as well as new car purchases.

I don't think you should any sense of loyalty to your current dealer, especially if they have such poor service. All you did was buy a car from them, servicing issues is an entirely different thing.

I know for me, if I come across a servicing issues I will first get quotes from a number of dealers. The dealer I purchased the car from was great so that's a plus for them, but I'm not married to them.

Funny thing is, we have a dealer just down the road, but because they gave us such a run around when we were looking to buy or car through them, I'm less inclined to give them my servicing business. I'll still ask them for a quote, but their pricing will need to be mighty impressive before I go back there.

My car is still less then a year old so any dealer I take my car to isn't going to be seeing my money. The things I'd like taken care of should be covered under warranty. Does Mazda reimburse the dealers for labor and parts on warranty work?

Yes, I had my headlights replaced, due to delamination, at a local Mazda service station. My car was purchased elsewhere. They wanted the job. In this case I had to make a claim with Mazda in CA. and then have it examined and approved by a district manager.

Guess what? The new headlights are also delaminated. Not as much as the originals. I know I should have scrutinized the headlights before I left the station. It's gonna' be interesting to see what they do this time?

Yes. Indeed, sometimes I think warranty work takes longer as they take their time that Mazda will pay for. Mazda pays for the loaner too.

My brother switched to my dealership because his kept blowing him off with the problems he was having with his new 2015 Grand Touring CX5. An example was his drivers side window would rattle driving when opened 1/2 inch. His dealer said we don't see a problem, mine found it and fixed it right away. The funny thing is these two dealers have the same owner.

I bought my cx5 from a Chevy dealer next door to the mazda dealer. Mazda has treated me exceptionally. You know what? If the bring back the RX, as in rx9, they will have a customer because of that.

Love the RX concept, not sure about how its new and improved rotary engine will fair.

All the VW dealerships I've dealt with have been great in the servicing department. Try that VW/Mazda dealership out.
