Mazdaspeed sway bars on P5

I've read that you need to use the rear subframe from the MP3 or Mazdaspeed to put the rear sway bar on on the P5. I thought you don't need it but I could be wrong. Has any body done this ?yet

I have the entire mazdaspeed suspension setup on my P5 and yes you do need the rear subframe from the speed in order to setup the swaybars. It comes included with the mazdaspeed swaybar kit if you buy from a dealer.

Can the swaybar kit be use alone w/o the need of the spring and struts from the MSP or are those component work hand in hand?

with the front bar - was that a direct swap in? i assume it is...also, is the MSP front bar 25 or 27mm???? i've seen them referred to both and i have no idea which is correct

Springs & Struts From MSP-
I got a pretty good deal (including install) from my dealer's service manager on the whole setup, so I didn't do the actual install myself. Therefore, I am uncertain whether or not you absolutely need the struts for the install. I can look under my car later if needed and try to get an idea for if they would be needed or not. I personally doubt it, though of course you run the risk of breaking endlinks and such without the improved struts. The springs I can guarantee you don't need to have to do the the sway bar kit - it is only if you want the "complete" package.

Front Bar-
Front bar is direct swap in, but it is a major pain to install on own because the front bar location is somewhat up in the engine bay area and the bar is extremely difficult to work into place without removing engine parts. Part of the reason why I had the dealer do the install. Also, front bar is 25 mm, rear is 20 mm.

Cost For Setup-
At "regular" dealer price, it comes out to around $1600 before any sort of install. If you want them to do install, tack on an additional $700 or so (again at "regular" price). If you have a tight dealer though (like I do), you may be able to talk them down quite a bit. www.mazdastuff.com does have it all for about $1000 all together. There may also be some other online dealers that have it on discount as well. I don't know of any other websites / companies to buy it through though that are not Mazda affiliated.

The ride with the setup is radically different, I really like it. There is nothing quite like insanely tight cornering - though it is an expensive thing to do.
