I read the big sticky thread, and tried to follow the MazdaMotorSports page, but I couldn't find any info on pricing for that stuff on the site, and I didn't join up and login.

Can the Mazdaspeed Cams, and pistons be purchased through Mazda dealerships? If they order and install, does it effect the warranty?

My car only has 550kms ( Canadian ) and I'm not interested in killing the drivetrain warranty yet.

Just curious,

Thanks,

Ryan

you can't get pricing on stuff unless you have a login, some dealers can get them some can't, if they don't know they are in the motor i won't void the warr.

I have a login for that site, and once in, its a bunch of PDF files of parts that are very hard to decifer.

Cams and pistons perhaps? I'm curious though, if those are installed by Mazda, and are Mazdaspeed parts, is the cars drivetrain warranty still valid?

Supposedly MS stopped importing the Japan MS parts. They have US specific parts now. I'm all confused about it also.

for the pistion the part# is 0000-01-3201 $1050.00 and the part #'s for the cams are fs9p-12-440 and fs9h-12-420--chris

motorsports part's will void the warr., if your dealership knows
about them--

I saw the $49 Mazdaspeed pistons on SR Motorsports' site. They also state they're 10.7:1 CR, which definitely rules out turbo'ing in the future, unless you put a crapload of spacing between the head/block to lower the compression again!

That't too bad it voids the warranty. I guess I'll just have to hurry up and get to the end of the powertrain warranty.

I'd really like to see a dyno of the High Compression pistons, and intake/exhause cams. I know just the intake isn't really worth any 10HP, but both cams plus the piston should be good for 20+. It would give the car some kick, plus by then AWR should be shipping the header, combined with an intake, and exhaust, would make the car noticeably faster.

On the corksport website, they mention bringing the 2.0L up to Japanese HP levels, what are those levels?

Thanks guys,

Ryan

I was hoping that too. I'll have to check with my dealer when I go in for my 1000km check and wash.

The $1050.00 pistion set is striaght from the mazda motorsports web page they are the set from the world chalenge protege, not the mazdaspeed one that SR sells, as for the Warr. ask your local dealer for what will not void the warr.--chris

WHOO. 13.5:1 is a bit steep for street gas. That certainly would be fun though.
