mazdaspeed intake

i had my dealer do it for me. Cost was $150 for the install which covers it under my standard and extended warranty.

It took me 3-4 hours of off and on working on it. You can bang it out in two hours. The air deflector is a pain in the ass unless you take the bumper off.

air deflector took me 15-20 minutes without removing the bumper. Ramps FTW.

Yah I couldnt get it all unbolted so I just tore it off and plastic pieces all over my driveway

When you guys say you used a ramp did you install with out removing the wheel?

What do you guys think is the easiest method, remove bumper or wheel?

I dont have a lift or anything so if I had to remove the wheel it would be on a floor jack at best long enough for me to get it done.

PS does the dealer install reall make a difference for warranty?

Taking the bumper off would definately be easier than the wheel, because you have access to all the areas you need to get too. If you take off the wheel it is still a b**** to work in that area. If I did it again the bumper would come off. Go to this link from injens website. Most of the installation is the same and these directions are the best I have seen.

Yeah I saved that page and planned on doing it that way.

I was going to get the Injen but I called Mazda and they said any CEL that comes up due to air intake will be my responsibility and wont be covered under warranty.

I am going to go with the MS kit and be done with it and worry free.

PS So does just the bumper have to come off or does the wheel have to come off as well?
