Sorry to hear about your 2014. Did you end up trading it in without fixing it? And did you mod it at all? Hopefully you were able to transfer some parts over to the new 6. Polymetal grey is a great colour! Hope you get to enjoy it for many more years to come!
Haven't traded it yet, it's sitting in our driveway waiting for me to decide what to do. No mods besides some minor ones; LED lights all around, bronze shift bushings, Miata shift knob, etc. Still shocked it's toast after it being problem free for all of its 135k miles.
Oddly enough I did have to transfer some parts. Never thought I'd have to ask if a used car came with floor mats or a second key, but I will after buying the new one! Was getting ready to leave and asked about both "Oh, we lost the second key. There's only the one." "what about the floor mats?" "Oh, if they're stained we throw them away". What a joke. So I transferred the floor mats from my old one into the new, still waiting on a replacement fob I ordered.
Might be crazy, but my wife's uncle taught auto repair for years and has a full shop. After discussing the car with him it might go into his shop in spring so we can pull the engine apart and check it. If it's as dead as I think I might find a used engine for us to swap in. Sounds crazy, but if it turns out well I might even sell the new one off and go back to the old. Damn I love that car. Got me through three years of commuting when I was travelling almost 80 miles each way every day.
Since this is a pic thread, here she is just last fall. Not bad for almost 9 years!
