Mazda2 to Be Re-Named "MZ2" for 2013 (?)

Never seen a Mazda2 referred to as an MZ2 on any dealer websites before... but apparently for 2013, they're listing it as MZ2. For the 2013, there should be integrated Bluetooth as standard on Touring and maybe extra sound insulation. Oh, and that sweet ice blue that the UK gets. Would trade my 2012 in.

Hmmm, interesting find but I don't know. Integrated Bluetooth is ok but would be MUCH more of an exciting upgrade if Mazda added the projector headlights ( like they just did in Thailand ) added the LED Taillights ( like they just did in Japan ) and added the LED side mirrors and key-less entry system ( like in the rest of the world ). Now that would be much more exciting.

I read somewhere on the internet that the '13 model was going to have a USB port..if so I really want to put that in my '11.

I'm pretty sure the dealers are responsible for typing in all the data on their own Web sites...one of my local dealers refers to the 2 as the "Mazda Mazda2", and when I bought my 2011 they had "MZ2" written on the keytag. It would also be really weird for Mazda to rename just the 2 like that; if "MZ2" is going to be its real name for 2013, then one would think that the 3 and 6 would get similar name changes.

Integrated Bluetooth would be pretty nice, but as long as it's not just the add-on that's already available...sounds like that thing is kinda half-assed. I'd rather see a full double-DIN headunit like they're using in the CX5.

The biggest question I have, though, is where the 2013's are going to be made...Mazda's new Mexico plant is supposed to come online soon...

That's the thing... if you look at the link, the 12s are called Mazda2, and the 13s are called MZ2. Maybe it's nothing.

I would be happy with just a regular headlight.. preferably driverside.... and less than 312$
