Mazda Second Best-Ever Month in U.S. Sales History

I guess this means they consider the CXs 'trucks'?

Looks like the CX-5 leads the pack but the CX-50 is gaining.

Mazda is doing great and all those people complaining about the size of the CX70/CX90 might not be buying them, but a whole lot of other people are!

Yeah, that threw for a bit as I was wondering what trucks they had on the market. I guess SUV is not a vehicle type and considered a "truck" but with a roof on top 😂

The CX-70 numbers are considerably low. Perhaps the 2 row seat is only attractive to specific customers. We’ll see how the numbers look the remaining of the year. It’s brand new so we gotta give it more time.

My insurance card says WAGON.

CX90 : CX70 = 5 : 1 ratio.
Mazda should have brought the CX-60 to NA instead of CX-70.
I would be very interested to get one. An Inline-6 version.

What surprises me is that CX-50 is selling well.

You are not the only one but I think we are beating a dead horse here. I believe that ratio will stay moving forward since we are talking about the same car just different seat configuration.

I heard that Mazda has people reading online posts...
If we keep saying "We want CX-60 in US !!!"
Maybe our little wish will come true. ;)
What you think the price point would be for that? Above or below the 70/90?

I say they do the following in the U.S.:

MX-5zoom zoom
3must-have compact; gas turbo and EV
6sedan; gas turbo and EV
RX-9ZOOM ZOOM
CX-30
CX-5jack of all trades city slicker; no size increase
CX-50for the rugged yet sophisticated crowd
CX-60midsize premium
CX-70
CX-90large premium; 2 and 3-row option

There has to be some legitimate reason why they didn’t just bring the 60 and decided instead to launch the 70. I have a hard time believing it’s just utter incompetence by product/marketing to create this confusion if they wanted to bring the 60 here all along.

Any other reason other than another product planned such as different size suv or mid-size sedan/wagon that will compete in the 195" length segment is actual a fail by the product/marketing team, especially after you poured so many resources in developing this new platform and new engine. Everybody and I mean everybody, on the forums/youtube reviewers comments wanted to buy a wider CX60 and instead they gave us a boat with 5 seats which can be had in the CX90s. All in a segment of vehicles that will produce the highest sales for your company.

Based on what I read: Two reasons.

1. Cost: CX-70 does not need to be re-certified since it is essentially the same as CX-90 w/o 3rd row seat and some cosmetic changes.
2. Interior space: CX-60 is based on the rear-drive chassis (longer hood). The interior space of a CX-60 is not much bigger than a CX-5. CX-70 provides more interior space.

I want a CX-60 for its inline6+8-speed tranny. Hope Mazda is reading this thread.
I might choose the PHEV if solid-state battery is ready and available in a couple years. Toyota has the *real* solid-state battery coming. All other vendors provide semi/quasi solid-state (gel electrolyte).

I think the reason you'd want the CX-60 is due to its size or other upscale features. IMO (for me) it wouldn't be for the engine and transmission; the extra weight of the vehicle means it's not a higher-performing vehicle than the CX-5. If anything, the engine is upsized to maintain a similar level of acceleration as the smaller, lighter CX-5, otherwise it would feel heavier and slower. Maybe there's some smoothness or refinement in an I-5 or I-6, but I think the Turbo I-4 is pretty smooth. Especially compared to the Miata. The CX-5 is butter by comparison.
