Black Cherry Mica 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 Sport
So it seems everytime I drive my Black Cherry Mica speed 6 I have a new paint chip, scratch or blemish. I drive everyday on nice paved highways, how does this happen? I mean the other day I came out of the touchless carwash and I had a big white scratch on my SPOILER! How!?!?!

Bug stains refuse to come off, the hood has dozens of small chips on it aswell... It ridiculous!

Anyone else have an issue with there paint?
I heard Mazda has touch up pens, are they any good?

mazda should have sent you a bottle of touch-up paint. if you didnt get one, i'd say go to your dealer. and yeah, the paint is fairly thin.

I agree, the paint that Mazda provides is too thin! I have a black speed 6 with a few deep scratches. I'm going to have the damaged parts painted, but I would really like to get the whole car repainted in another car company's black. To me it seems the Mazda black is not deep enough.

I have a Black Mica Speed3 and withing the first five thousand miles I have four or five paint chips on the roof. The F'ing roof? How the hell does that happen. Bought the car in the spring/early summer hasn't seen a winter and has only been on the road for a couple months.

What gives?

YeAH its pretty bad I have blak cherry also .... any dark color in ths car is bad news ...... I must say even with a few chips and scatches .... my cars still a SEXY b**** !!!

I agree with the paint being too thin, my whole front end especially my hood has about a dozen paint chips in it and I've oly owned the car for about a year now.

Bingo, I'm in the same boat. The road wear on the front of my car is a bit ridiculous for only having 18k miles on it. Black Mica here.

Same here. I have Black Cherry Mica MS6 and the bug stain do not come out even if i wash right after driving. The rear view mirrors are the worst. paper thin paint means that the white plastic is already showing. Paint recall anyone???

lol I already need to go get my A/C redone! I need my car lol.

Still it'd be greatly appreciated.

Do what i done, Get the 3M protective stuff and get the front of the bonnet, headlights and mirrors done, works great as long as you don't mind being able to see the edge across the bonnet which looks like a big scratch lol

I know most places that do tinting work here offer it. It costs an arm and a leg though.

Yikes, I have some crappy tinting places around here that I won't even trust to have them put tint on my car.

I'll have to call around.

And is that a Canadian arm and a leg or the American arm and a leg?

I'm guessing you guys get it cheaper then we do here in Canada just cause everything seems to be cheaper down there but I wouldn't be suprised if it was the same. I haven't got an actual quote but my dad did it and I remember he mentioned it costs basically as much as a new paint job on the peace you're protecting...

Black Mazda 3

I bought my Mazda3 July 31, 2009 and I already have at least 20 large paint chips. The dealer told me today that it is from road debris but all the chips are on the side panels, not the hood. That is just wrong to spend so much money on a new car and it has paint coming off. I drive good roads, the same road I drove my Honda on, and after four years, it never had these paint chips. Maybe we should start a class action law suite. Black paint seems to be the common denominator.

Yeah I posted in here a while ago, but for an update my front bumper, hood, side view mirrors have multiple chips in them. I have the average amount of miles on my car and take very good care of the car. Having it fully detailed twice a year and regular washing and waxing on my part.

Bottom line...the paint shouldn't be where it is at this point of ownership.

only place i see chips is my hood.. there very minor at that.. our paint is 4/1000's thick and even thinner if some areas.. is it worth the body work.. not really.. but u can fix it on ur own if u know what ur doing..

3M makes it and a company called Llumar full body armor which I bought. Got the complete kit entire F.bumper, headlights, side mirrors and hood 12 hood piece. cost was approx. 1k installed. It is worth every penny for the protection it delivers but..................................................
if the ding is big/sharp enough, it will mar the finish (not penetrate) of the body armor.

I know how you guys feel. Owned my MS6 a little over a year now. Couldn't agree more with any other topic.
