Guide: Mazda Firmware Update Information

My understanding is that you can. Keep in mind you will lose Japanese radio stations if you choose to go that route (due to frequency differences).

Thank you, @Candurin.
I've just upgraded to the latest version and am hopeful that the previous bugs and glitches will no longer occur, or at least happen less frequently.

Does anyone know if you can change region by updating the OS? I have a Japanese car but would like to update to AU/NZ version of the OS.
Can I overwrite / install the different region.

Current is:
70.00.110 JP M
I'll let you know soon. I just bought a 2019cx-8 JDM import that has had its firmware changed so the dash reads in english. (The infotainment language is just a setting in the infotainment menus...)
I'll post up what firmware I've got installed when the car arrives next week

Following the recent update to firmware version 74.00.324A EU N, I am pleased to report a significant improvement in system performance.

Prior to this update, I encountered numerous bugs and glitches.
For instance, the information screen would turn off unexpectedly while using an iPhone cable for Apple CarPlay.
Occasionally, Apple CarPlay would fail to connect, and despite a successful Bluetooth connection, music playback was impossible.
Typically, a reset of the infotainment system resolved these issues, although some required a brief engine shutdown to rectify.

However, four weeks post-upgrade, I have not experienced any of the previously mentioned issues, indicating a successful resolution of past software problems.

Was about to update my firmware, but checked my battery voltage first...Is 12.2V a bit too low to risk leaving the car in ACC for a long period?

I saw the video instructions and curious why people are using Parallels on Mac to do this?
Macs are capable of formatting the USB drive to Fat32 and pasting the update on to it. TIA

Soo,today i was trying to update from 70.xx.xxx to 74.00.324A EU N and my MZD says there is no update file. I have checked the files with Md5 sha and was everything o.k.. Now the 10 points question is why?I have followed the steps exactly. Can I try now to start engine and drive?becouse tomorrow I must go to work :))

That's usually an indication of a bad/incompatible USB drive. Is it less than 16gb and formatted to FAT32? Make sure you are following the directions for the more recent firmware (.UP files versus the older failsafe versions).

I have downloaded this file and I will try again tomorrow with another USB stick . Anyway ,from the file you have sent I did a check on what I have done and everything was ok from first step to 17. USB I used is 4Gb, as I already said ,I will try again with another one. Thank you once again for your support @Candurin.

Don’t thank me until after we get you updated :)

I have a 2023 CX-8 in Australia. The current version I’m running is 7000C0A-EU08_10022. Are there any further updates?

I have a 2019 CX5, and want to perform software update purely for the bug fixes. I don't intend to install the wireless carplay module, will these files still work for this use case? Are there any differences in the installation procedure?

Yes, the files will still work. There is no difference in the installation procedure, and there is no need to upgrade any hardware or install the AA/ACP retrofit kit either.

Hi all,

I was able to successfully update my firmware from 59.00.330A 4A N directly to 74.00.324A 4A N without installing 70.00 etc.

I want to note, the update took around 45min and roughly at 40min mark (99% installed) the screen turned black and my ACC turned off due to my battery turning off (I think). To fix this I just turned the ACC back on and waited and it went back to installation loading bar and then it updated.

If I were to do this again, I would attach it to a battery charger to keep the battery running. Fortunately my battery is newish and it completed with no trouble.

I hope this helps someone.

Thanks to Candurin and this Forum for the great work
