Well, my father and I are almost finished with our 70 camaro project and he asked me what our next car should be. so naturally i want to do an import since we've done 3 muscle cars already. I suggested either an 86-92 rx7 with an engine swap since he's never worked with rotarys. Does anyone know of any kits online for engine swaps in the rx7's? Like engine mounts tranny mounts etc. I also suggested a 72 240z, I'm sure he'd be more willing to do that since he loves his 70's style cars. There are a million kits and parts for any motor you want with the 240z. I found a kit to put a VQ35 into a 240z (nana) I think that would be real badass. What do you guys think! give me some suggestions!

and no 240sx's my dads best friend has 2 rebuilt 91 hatches, so he doesnt want to copy him.

duuuuuuude....if you're gonna do an engine swap for an import do a MONSTER MIATA!!! they are usually ford V8's into NA bodies.

oh and ppl usually stick LS engines in the 7's

if you want to build a FUN car that will pretty much lay the smack down without ANYONE knowing............drum rolll...............a S2000 with a 2JZGTE with single turbo, easy puts down 600+Whp. easy 9sec car.

Well atleast that's my personal next project...

Yeah Monster Miata for sure, we have two of them local and they are badass..one has a carburated V8..not sure what exactly, the other has a LS Corvette motor. I saw them at the last mazda meet. there might be some pics on the MWMC forum in the club section. I found them for ya..scroll about 3/4 the way down the page..http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123772747-MAZDA-THUNDER-IV-Pics!!!!/page2 One is red and the other is a light blue..your welcome LOL!

I vote for the 240Z. See if your dad remembers the Scarab Z. These cars were numbered and had a wide body kit, spoilers, interior upgrades with Recaro seats and last but not least a 327 CID, Chevy V-8 engine.

I remember my friend's Dad ordered one when we were at the 1974 L.A. Auto show. It came with a custom paint job, Koni shocks and brake cooling ducts. It was a world class car for its time and I think he paid @ $12,000 for it.

This car has always been stuck in my memory and I regret that I was too young to drive it, just sat in it with my friend and pretended to race it as young teens will do, (Vrooooom)!

No miata? How bout a big ass engine in a opel?

I'm just saying there's nothing better than a school teacher's midlife crisis roadster(miata) whoopin' up on some guy's vehicular form of penis compensation (ferrari, porsche)

hahaha very true with the miata. its just i know a kid with a fully built miata with a 13b single turbo in one. he wants something that know one else has done yet around here that we can take to the shows every weekend. and the 2jz s2k is an awesome idea its just our budget isnt that high haha we want to be able to pick up a decent shell for at most 4-5k. and if i can find a kit to fit a 2jz in a 240z i will do that hands down. 2jz's are legendary.

I'd go for a 240z with an RB26DET if you can get your hands on one... if not, I think it'd be really, really cool to do a VQ35DE/HR and do some sort of rear mounted turbo like the STS kit for the 350z.

The 240z is my dream build so I'm a little biased haha.

yeah i was looking into one of the RB's as well. there are a million parts and kits, mounts for the RB's. i just gotta see which swap would be cheaper. and would anyone know if the 240z's have a posi rear end? or if i would have to get a new rear end?

How bout a 4-rotor in something?

How about trying to put a v8 in an old mr2?

Orrrrr, try to stick a wankel on a gixxer or cbr or some bike

Saw a guy with a 6.0 GTO motor, rearend, and trans in a miata.... sounded sick. My personal next project is going to be a fiero with a supercharged 3.8 from a GTP

i think the 240 with an RB26 or a RX7 with a 20B!!! or an RX2 with a 20B..... Tempest with a Nelson Racing TT Big Block >]

rb motors are put in 240z's all the time, it would be way more uniqe and easier to find parts with the 2jz
