so i just got an 06 Mazda 6 and im attempting my first oil change. Its not going so well..
apparently the dealership that i bought my car from used an air ratchet on the oil drain plug.
im trying to get it off but it seems to be stripping off.. so if i end up having to drill it out... i need to get a new plug.

my main problem though is that no local auto parts store can tell me the bolt specs (i know its a 15MM) of the plug.. if anyone know please let me know!

I would take it back to that dealer and have them change it. You will need a new pan as well if it is stripped on those threads.

dude, trust me, listen to qwik6 when he tells you take it up there. I tried to do mine, couldn't do it. Had my buddy try, he works at a gym and has muscles i've never even heard of, and he couldn't get it. They either use the air ratchet or they raise it up and use a breaker bar to get enough leverage. Just take it lol

Yes, that needs a trip to the dealer, and an explanation of what happened. There's NO reason whatsoever that you should pay for that.

The plug is a 14mm x 1.25 pitch IIRC.
