Mazda 6 - Bose Audio Front Speaker Replacement

I have a Mazda 6 W/ Bose audio, and knew before i bought the car that those Fronts sucked ass. Unfortunetly, my dealer only had V6's w/ bose available, so you take what you can get. Now i'm looking to buy a pair of JL audio XR 5.25" XR570-CX. When working with Bose audio are there any complications with the install, and is the amp going to give enough power to these babies or am i going to need to replace that too?

When you take out the bose speakers make sure to check 2 things.
1. The speakers are each 4 ohms. Bose system commonly run 2 or 1 ohm speakers so that if you replace them you loose half the power.
2. the speakers are not individualy amplifier. If they it will be obvious as the speakers will have 4 wires not just 2 going to them.

I have not stripped down a 6 yet so I have no clue what may be hiding in that system.

Hey Craig, what's the highest end car that you've made an install on?

The other day I went to the BMW dealership to check out the M3s, they had an optional Harman Kardon sound sys and it made me think if the people who buy high end cars such as this actually dare to strip them down, I don't think I could  .

I did a JL 500/5, JL XR components and a JL free air 10" sub in a 2002 convertable M3.
Component BA pros, amp, and a CD changer in a SL500.
Helped wire in a radio in a Ferrari Testarosa.
Done a few things here and there in land cruisers.
Nothing crazy I guess :D.
