HHeeeelllPPppp please. This is my daughter's car and is a non starter. The car is a 1996 model and the engine is the 16 valve one. She called out a mobile mechanic and he diagnosed a distributor fault, the integral coil was burnt out. Managed to get one from a scrap yard and i've fitted it to the engine with its cap. The engine is trying to start now but will not run.
Does the rotor arm of the distributor only fit in the engine one way or could i be 180 degrees out? Does anyone know what the ignition firing order is for this car is it 1 3 4 2 ? Finally, where abouts in the distributor is no1? I have pulled the car forward in gear and the rotor arm travels anti clock wise, when no1 cylinder is at approx TDC the rotor points to about 5pm, is this correct?
