[Here's the monthly sales report I've been doing, it just adds the historical monthly sales from 2007 to 2011]

North America Mazda released their March 2011 US sales data.

In March 2011 3,866 Mazda5s were sold, up 139.4% from March 2010. This is the best sales in a month ever for the Mazda5.

For comparison 12,467 Mazda3s were sold in March.

Here's the data I have gathered from 2007 to the present.

I've had my 2012 m5 since late Feb and have seen only ONE other 2012 m5 on the streets .... but lots of the older m5s.

I haven't seen a single new 5 on the streets yet but it'll definitely take time. There are over 70,000 first gen models out there (minus whatever has been written off, lemon'ed, etc.) and less than 7,000 second gens. The rise in gas prices will only be good for the Mazda 5.

Guess the new styling is well received.

Nah, can't be the new styling. (wink)

Nissan +28%, Subaru +13%, Honda +21%, Mitsubishi +39%, Hyundai +32%, and Kia +44% also experienced incredible gains over March 2010. In addition to the higher gas prices, I wonder if the Japanese tragedies and its impact on the supply chain has caused a minor run on Asian cars in general. Only Toyota -10% had a down month compared to 2010.

I've seen two new 5s in my drives around Denver.

Mazda was lucky in that at least their assembly plant in Hiroshima is in southern Japan, far away from the Tsunami affected areas.

Hi Guys, this is my first post here!

Mine 5 is one of that "3,866" :)

I think most of the contribution are 2010 OLD model ...like mine. Can't resist the C$5,000 rebate!

3 leftover 2010 Mazda 5 Touring automatics!!!! This is a rare find! If you are interested this is what they have in them: cargo net, all weather floor mats, interior cargo cover, auto-dimming mirror with compass & home link, sirius satellite radio with a 6 month free subscription and wheel locks! The MSRP is $23260, the sale price is $18689 + tax and tags.

I just got this email from my local Mazda dealer... I'm sure there is still room for negotiation too! Also, I wonder how many of them are actually 2012 models sold in the US vs CA and MX.

I do think the new model will get more looks from the buying public b/c it now looks like a minivan, which is popular, and not a tall wagon/hatch, which is not very popular in the US. Still, I wonder how many of the 2012s sold are to US vs CA+MX.
