Ok this guy has 18's w/ sportlines and it seems as if he has no rubbing issuses at all....yet his rims must have a high offset...

I just purchased 17"x7 Motegi Dp10's (glossy black) w/ a 42+ offset with 215/35's and i have no clue w/ what i should do....should i machine the rim....and if any of you know where this is possible in the state of GA....please do tell.....Or should i roll the fenders? This is a hard decision for me because i fear this whole rubbing issue. I am about to install some Eibach Sportlines and i have a Type X sub in the trunk....it weighs close to 85 pounds w/ sub and enclosure/amp. I need some serious advice because i have posted before but i keep getting mixed answers.

I dont want to machine the rim because it damages the structural integrity of the rim....and i fear chipping my paint if i roll the fenders....btw how do you do that? Rubber mallet and bang upwards?

IF YOU HAVE EIBACH SPORTLINES AND A SET OF 17"X7 WHEELS w/ an offset of 42+ I NEED YOUR INPUT.....THIS IS ABOUT OFFSETS....i am not concerned about oh my friend has this car.....Please help me...

Thanks all....

just roll your fenders..
The easiest thing to do would to take the smaller end of a wooden baseball bat, and go along the inner fender lip.
either on a HOT day, or use a blow dryer to heat the metal up to minimize the risk of chipping your paint.

the part of the fender that usually rubs is towards the front of the fender by the rear door. that part of the fender lip is a lot wider than the rest of the fender. i just beat it back with a rubber mallet. didnt chip any paint and no more rubbing. the wider part of the fender lip is only about 4 inches long

thanks for the help....you guys all deserve a bj from angelina jolie....

So this fender rolling will prevent my rubbing issues even though it is a 42+ offset? I am figuring rolling the lip will give me close to four mms or so?

yep. Those mms are enough.
My KT221's are 17x7 with a 42+ offset... I'm not rubbing anymore.

i have 5zigen +42 rims on 17x7 205 tires. I "shaved" the fenders instead of rolling it. Took it to a body shop, trimmed the fenders and had it repainted and sealed.

As of finding someone in GA, a freind of my dads owns a body shop. I'm sure he could do it if you dont want to risk f-ing anythin up. It is pretty easy though. The shop is on the southend of richmond county(Augusta). I can call my dad and see if the guy (Jimmy) will do it.
