M6 2007 and Sirius

I have an M6 2007 model with the standard sound system and 6 CD upgrade. I am looking to add a satellite radio. The radio has the SAT button and the user manual lists it as Sirius compatible. However, my dealer insists that there is no Sirius tuner module which they could install. I have found a module from Sirius (the Sirius SC-C1 SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle Satellite Radio Tuner) but neither the dealer nor Sirius can tell give me whether the unit will interface with my M6 sound system. I find this most bizarre since there clearly are Sirius tuners available. I am in Canada (that sometimes makes a difference).

Does any one know if the tuner unit I mentioned will work? Any Canadians have experience getting Sirius tuners installed into an M6?

Thanks.

Mazda OEM Sirius radio kit. Part#0000-81-H20 Have your dealer order that for you. Guaranteed to fit.....

...Or he could order it from one of our vendors on here. Also, I believe it retails around $495, so it's a bit pricey. Not too sure about installation details, since mine came pre-installed.

I know the unit consists of a small box that mounts on the back side of the radio, and the antenna, but i'm not sure if anything else is involved. I think running the antenna wire would be the biggest PITA.

Thanks for the pointers. I've been told that this part can't be shipped to Canada. It certainly can't be bought here.

I saw this unit on eBay, it was $200ish. I thought that was quite cheap! I haggled with my dealer and made him throw it in but if I knew it was on eBay I would have had him throw in the remote start instead.

Also when they installed it there was a plug in the trunk behind the carpet on the right side. The antenna was just mounted to the trunk and ran down the drivers side arm and under the plastic wrapping to the right side. I had to goof with it because the antenna came loose. Looks pretty simple to install if the car is sirius "ready".

Interesting. Right side as you face the trunk I assume? Are you meaning under the floor carpeting? I find the jack and the spare wheel. Can you give any more pointers about where it would be if it is there?

Your radio is Sat ready but none of the cars are prewired. To install sat radio you will run a wire from the radio ti the pass side rear trunk area. The sat reciever box goes under the right side trim double sided taped to the support. The antenna goes in the trunk lid runs under the weatherstrip and in under the pass side taillight. The OEM sat reciever comes with install instructions and needed accessories. Install is not hard just take your time removing trim so as to not to damage the trim.
