Looking for wheels

Hey all. I've seen a lot of really great wheels on all the rides around here so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with what I am looking for? Basically I love the black with the polished lip look as it looks great on all color Proteges. However, I haven't really been able to find a good 6 or 8 or even 10 spoke wheel in 17x7.5" with a 48mm backspacing. If anyone can point out some companies or even give some pictures I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

The rota grid's looked pretty good but they don't have the right threading to match the Proteges. As for the battle and the subzero, I don't really like that style (split, smaller spokes) but thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I really like some drag's wheels (the DR-6 and DR-10 especially) but none of their wheels will fit the Protege either... damn.

if you're looking for "really good" wheels.. i'm guessing you mean like top of the line maybe? I'd suggest work, volk, racinghart, bbs. I'm pretty sure that work wheels can be special ordered to any offset but its $200 extra per wheel... which brought the price of the wheels i was intersted to up to $4800.. and that's without tires lol so i said screw that . anyway, if you need any help picking out some nice looking wheels just let me know and i'll find u some pics. also a price range would help

I would really rather not go custom (poor college student) but I haven't seen anything that has really crossed my mind but my knowledge of wheel companies is very limited. I really like the black-with-polished-lip look and I'm looking for anywhere between like 6 and 10 spokes. If you know of some other companies let me know and I'll go check them out.

I'm looking around $1500 tops, maybe a little more, but it really depends on the wheels and how much I like them (yes) . For tires I'm looking at the Yokohama AVS Series (I think they're called), not too expensive so that leaves a little more for the wheels.

Do all ROTA wheels come with the option of having a polished lip or is that something you would have to do yourself/get done? I really like some of their wheels but I can't tell if they come with a polished lip or not. I see some people have them with the polished lip but on ROTAs website they're only listed as black or "royal black" (whatever that is). Can someone shed some light on this?

IIRC, Royal means it has a polished lip... so royal black is black with a polished lip.

Ah, I see. So does anyone have any pictures of some of the other ROTA wheels? I've seen a lot with the Battle's or Subzero's, but I'm curious what some of the others look like in royal black. Thanks!

here are some pics of my enkei or52's. they are nice wheels, come in 2 or 3 pieces depending on if u want the center cap, and center lug. i didn't go with the lug in the center because i dont like the look of it, so im going to try to find another one from another company or get one customly made.

I'm really starting to like the ROTA D2's and the Grid's as they're both pretty much what I'm looking for. Protege2 has some nice Enkei's but I haven't been able to find them anywhere. As for the Subzero's, I don't blame you for selling them. Not that they aren't good but I've seen way too many people with them and I personally don't like the "racing mesh."

i got them from kauffman tire through a friend. i think they are like $625 from them, but i paid $475 for all 4 with the center piece. i got some pirelli p zero neros with them for $412, so it came out to $926 something with installation and what not. the color is anthricite or something like that(they come in that color, bronze, or silver). i love them alot. took about a week for them to grow on me, but i think that's because im use to the stockers because i love them also. laters

Yeah I've seen that some wheels come in that color (anthricite) but I was never really sure what that was. They appear to be pretty dark which is what I'm looking for (although black is preferred), is anthricite like a dark gray?
