Little Intake Advice, i have read the stickies just want some input

So my buddies bday is coming up and my friends are gathering some money for an intake. We are broke college kids so AEM SRI is where its at so far.


I have installed a AEM SRI on my 6i and my friend liked the mazda6 so much that he bought an 6S ATX...i know shoulda waited for a mtx but oh well.

Please advise me before I do this if you think it's a good idea to buy my friend a car mod. He definitely wants an intake but he is a jobless college kid right now.

I am just wondering basically if i should get a bomz intake off ebay because its cheap and intakes don't really do much except cp-e which isnt an intake its like sex in your car....

anyway to sum up
bomz intake vs. AEM SRI vs any other SRI.

i am just worried hes going to throw a CEL.

do you think BOMZ would be better than the stock airbox lol?

Spend the extra and get a quality product. AEM, Fujita, or even the Mazdaspeed one would be my suggestions for ya. If you're gonna go the intake route, don't cheap out on it.

Shop around, those intakes are pretty common and carried by a lot of people. How much you looking to spend?

i think SU has the best price.
i have never dealth with them before though so I dno about customer service.

chech out autoanything.com they usually have cheaper systems, and look into a cai instead of an sri, cold air will help it out more so but its your choice
