Liquid Platinum/Galaxy Gray + Sand Interior Discontinued

I'm in the process of trying to order a CX-9 FWD GT in Liquid Platinum & Sand Interior. The dealer was unable to order my configured CX-9 claiming that this combo had been discontinued. I contacted Mazda Corp and verified that this color combination is no longer being offered. My #2 color choice, Galaxy Gray + Sand is also discontinued. The dealer said that Sand with Liquid Platinum isn't a popular combo so whatever available out there is all that's left. (hand)

Now I can't find my configured CX-9 (Liquid Plat/Sand > BSMS, GT Assist, Homelink Mirror, RSES, Roof Rack, Mud Guard). There are two CX-9's left that I can choose from locally, but I have to sacrifice an option or color that I want.

CX-9 with everything I want + Sirius (which I don't want), but missing the BSMS.
or
CX-9 with everything I want + Moonroof, but missing RSES.

I know that you can add an aftermarket RSES, but it's not quite the same as one that comes from the factory. Does anyone know if I can add the BSMS later on?

I also can change to the black leather, but I prefer not to. (Black leather is just too hot for me down here in South FL)

Any advice for a potential CX-9 owner?

Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question; but I'm hoping that BSMS can be added as well.

From what I've heard it sounds like it would take the two radar modules + the switch mechanism + two new side mirrors at a minimum. But that's only IF the car already has the wiring in place and if nothing else needs to be changed to be compatible with BSMS.

I'm going to open up my CX-9 soon and see if the wiring is in place...

Someone in another thread claimed mentioned that their dealer had the parts as an option suggestion it could be added; but I never saw any updates...

Anybody tried this or at least investigate further?

If you truly want that color combination, consider expanding your search beyond "locally". I purchased an Escalade in 2000 from a guy in Tennessee, flew there, and drove it home. Last November, if none my local Mazda dealerships hadn't had a CX-9 that I liked coming in on a ship soon, I was planning to buy my CX-9 in Philly. They had one I liked and I was flying up for a Thanksgiving visit anyway. So, I would have just driven home instead of flying home.

If your local dealer won't do a regional search for you, find some Mazda dealers at http://www.automotive.com/mazda/18/dealers/index.html or somewhere similar. Grab a phone and start making calls. If the dealership is too far to drive it home, it can be trucked. It just depends on how badly you want it.

I hear you! I wanted a galaxy gray with sand AWD GT last summer and had a tough time finding that combo. Doesn't surprise me that it was discontinued. I searched on the Mazda website and found only 4 in that color combo west of the Mississippi at that time. I ended up going through a broker to get what I wanted. Luckily, it was only 200 miles away.

Check out the search inventory feature on the Mazda site and just repeat your search with different major cities. You just might find what you want.

I went to great lengths this past week looking for a CX-9 GT in Liquid Platinum/Sand. I used the online chat with from Mazdausa.com to help me search for a CX-9 with the options I wanted. The search encompassed current inventories as well as inbound shipments. The only CX-9 in the country with the options and color I wanted is in San Antonio, TX but when I checked with the dealer, it was a DEMO (hand).

I think I'm gonna have to go with another exterior color option (Galaxy Gray or Copper Red).
