lightening the fly wheel?

Ok so I am building up my msp with forged pistons rods, porting the head, new transmission, but i was just wondering, the guy thats doin the machining for this said something about lightening the fly wheel just wonderin what this does and if its a good thing to do for the msp?

lightned flywheel means less rotational mass on the flywheel which equals better quicker revs a lot of people not just with mazdas do both clutch and lightened flywheel together as they together get power down better b/c the engine doesn't have to work so hard to move the flywheel
