It's funny, of all the knives that I have bought and given over the years my favorite carry knife is a 10 yr. old fully serrated 4" Cold Steel Tanto with the plactic molded clip. The shape of the butt catches your fingers perfectly to pull out of a pocket or a waste band. Very light with a big deadly blade. I used it when I used to run stuck in my shorts. Still hasn't rusted. My newest is a Sog Ex-ray. I am very impressed with their quality.
Try out Benchmade or Spyderco knives, great work and reliability there. If you like tanto points look at the Benchmade Stryker, it's discontinued and can be found for under $100 or for a smaller blade the 722. I'm not a big fan of AUS8 steel, 154cm/ATS34 and S30V is some great stuff and so is D2 tool steel. As far as buying knives, Newgraham.com is excellent and has really good prices, 1sks.com is also a great place to do business with and is the store front of Bladeforums.com which is currently downshibaman said:I will have to check out that web site.
