I was in the middle of doing it and then my dad needed my help. I'm back on it now.

Yes I did. The answer is that there are a number of ways to tap into your motor to connect the sensor. The sandwich plate is the one I chose, because I didn't want to drill and tap anything. Once the sandwich plate is removed the car is back to bone stock. The down side is that you have to be ready to replace the O-ring on it occasionally or you risk oil leaks. If you just plan to remove it and replace the ring about every third or fourth oil change you'd never have a problem.
 
yeah ide rather just tap if the motor is already apart and out of the car. constantly having to replace the o-ring would just be irritating. just my opinion.
