Now get the Bronzeoil bushings & some Redline MT-90...trust me, how it feels now is nothing compared to how good it WILL feel.

Can i use them with the TWM short shifter ???
Already install my kartboy busching , they was a bit too stiff the first week , but now they are ok with a month of used !!! i like them !!!

What exactly improved, or in what way did it improve? Compare it to the stock shift feeling so that some of us can get a more complete picture of what you mean.

Don't buy the bronzoil bushings if in the future you'll put a TWM S-shifter, that's because the shifter comes with it's own sealed ball-bearing rig (It's a beautiful piece of engineering) Or split a set with someone else 'cause you'll only need one. The combo Kartboy bushings, TWM shifter and GM Synchromesh (AC Delco in Canada) is NIRVANA!!!! Couldn't live without it!! Shifting is tight, the throw is shorter and MUCH more precise (it's like "clic, clic"), from 1st to 2nd is much, much better than before and downshiftin's particularly cool. Feels more like a "race car" overall, at least those are my personal impressions... Stock shifter in comparison was like rowing in a dinghy!

does it make shifting into gears much smoother instead of it kinda feeling bumpy (i don't relaly know how else to describe it). Maybe like having a good offensive line making your running back a hole as compared to the running back not getting through cause the line sucks ass? haha

I'm sick of all these ?s...bottom line is that shifting is better with the drivetrain trio. If you are skeptical, then you can stick with the crappy stock parts. What you need to do is stop asking so many ?s & just buy them...it's between $80-$100 shipped for the trio, so it's not that expensive & if you don't like any of the bushings, I guarantee you can sell them.

Also, don't forget the mentality, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I'm a big skeptic about this mod particularly because I don't know exactly what the end result will be. All I hear is how great it is (and I hear a lot) but when all I said and done I just don't know what to expect. All I need is one test drive on somebody's car who has it to make up my mind. Until then, all I can do is ask questions.

Biggest question: Is the shift from 1st to 2nd noticeably smoother?

Short shifters have some disadvantages. They tend to increase the force needed to move the stick and they tend to wear out the synchros faster. My solution was to install an MP3 shifter. This is the same length below the fulcrum point as the sedan/P5 shifter, so it does not decrease the shift throw, but it is~one inch shorter above the fulcrum point. Consequently, your hand moves through a shorter arc when shifting, improving the shift feel. The MSP shifter is the same as the MP3 except for the thread: MP3 is M8 x 1.25 while MSP is M10 x 1.25. I was able to buy the MP3 shifter and knob on this Forum for $50.

I also use the Kartboy shifter bushings. They reduce the play in the shifter making shifts feel more precise and defined. The combination of the two has really improved the shift mechanism. I also have the Corksport bronzeoil bushings that fit on each end of the change control rod but I have not yet installed them. I would expect that the bronzeoils would further eliminate play since they are more rigid than the OEM urethane bushings. Those who already have the MSP shifter might just consider retaining it and going with a bushing change only.

Finally, I use Red Line MT-90 in the transmission. This change made for even smoother shifts, particularly in cold weather.

I consider these three mods to have significantly improved the shifting feel over the stock set-up.

I have the bushings(shifter), and GM syncromesh in. Overall, much better, like everyone is saying. I didn't notice much of a difference with the syncromesh though. Maybe cause the bushings were more of a "big" change.
